My January - March 2019 Beauty Haul Review

I notice that I was basically missing from my Instagram and blogposts in the first quarter of 2019. I didn’t buy anything new or share anything exciting on my social media and blogspot. But that doesn’t mean that I have stopped shopping. I just went to explore other newer and better things, that is not limited to K-beauty alone.

But after so many months of “inaction”, I finally committed to put together updates of the things that I bought, loved, and was excited about in the past 3 months below:

Nescafe Cold Brew Coffee

Oh I love this one so much! And interestingly, it is imported from Korea. It is a nice, aromatic, non-acidic, and smooth cold-brewed coffee that anyone can make anything in your office. It is simple, just pour a pack of this into the glass bottle that comes with it, add 150ml of cold water, and shake. The bottle feels like those old American style whisky bottle, that you can enjoy it anytime, anywhere as you like.

If you are curious, I bought it from Shopee on sales for only RM17.90. I am hoping that they will sell only the coffee sachets alone (for cheaper prices) minus the glass bottle.

Doterra Essential Oils

I was crazy about essential oils throughout the whole February. I looked up on every single essential oil, their properties, functions and explore many ways to mix and match them. I even bought a huge textbook on essential oils you see. I actually tried many essential oils before, but none of these give me the “oom” that Doterra brand gives me. You can feel the “energy” or “qi” inside these little amber glass bottles.

Among all essential oils that I have played with, I fancied these the most:

Peppermint – this is the best remedy for coughing, indigestion, a lack of energy, and bloating. It also reduces your desire to eat too for weight loss.

Wild orange – believe or not, this actually gets rid of the bad “qi” in your house and bring in good “qi”. It is said to bring good luck and fortune when you have it on.

Lavender – this is an excellent soothing essence. It also improves your sleep and relaxes your mind.

DHC Pearl Barley Extract

This is a health supplement made of 13x concentrated pearl barley extract. Pearl barley has been traditionally used as a skin brightening and detoxifying remedy for East Asians. Chinese people boil this and drink this as a tonic to “lower your internal heat” and to “reduce water retention in your system”. In other words, it aids in weight loss and improves enema condition.

DHC Japan Melilot Beauty Diet Supplement

This diet supplement is immensely popular in Japan, China, and Taiwan. Many girls claim that their lower body becomes slimmer after consuming it for weeks. Intrigued, I ended up with a pack of this for 1-month consumption. So far, I have seen good results within just 2-3 days of using, it basically just helps to get rid of water and any “waste” that is accumulated in your lower body. It doesn’t upset my stomach or give me any other issues. So far so good. I will keep you guys posted on my full review later.

Kanebo Suisai Powder Wash

This product is popular for so many years, but I only made up my mind to get it last month. One of the reasons is because I just happened to finish all my foaming cleanser collection, so I have the “quota” to buy new things. Secondly, I really need a travel-friendly and portable powder wash for travelling. Thirdly, I don’t really need a physical exfoliator so this cleanser will double up as a scrub too, which I really love about. I don’t have to commit into another full-size powder wash like the Tosowong that I find boring before, so these mini cubes are just perfect to satisfy all my needs here.

ISDG Night Enzyme

Enzyme is really popular in Japan. The “Beauty Guru” Mr. Kelvin also raved about it in his vlog, which got me really curious about them. I picked this Night Enzyme from the brand ISDG that Mr Kelvin recommended. I know there is several other brands that produce good enzyme too so I might check them out later. I am on my 3rd day into this so I will update you guys whether or not this works!

Dr Wu Hydrating Glacier Mist

I bought this because I happened to finish all my existing mists and wanted to try something new. Luckily Dr. Wu provided a tester at the Watson’s store’s display so I get to try it out. I love it so much that I bought it without second-thought. Neogen one, on the other hand, failed to impress me so I ended up with Dr. Wu. I am eyeing Avene and may go back to that one in future.

Sunplay Skin Aqua Tone Up UV Essence SPF50+ PA++++

I didn’t plan to get this sunscreen when it was first launched, but I forgot to bring my own sunscreen when I was travelling 2 weeks ago so I went to the nearby Watson’s store and ended up with this. It looks beautiful, the texture seems interesting with skin toning up effect, and the price is reasonable too. I will share my thoughts on it with you guys soon!

That's all for my January to March 2019 haul. I will keep you guys posted on things I loved and bought more regularly next time! See you!
