Review: IPSE Nightingale Toning Eraser Original

Aqua peel was a trend in Korea in the past two years. Many brands are coming out with their own aqua peel, among which Mamonde, Holika Holika, It's Skin, Innisfree are joining the trend. After trials and errors, I finally settled down with a brand that I think makes one of the most effective aqua peels in the market - IPSE Nightingale!

Review: Laneige Homme Active Water Skin

I bought this Laneige Homme Active Water Skin for my bf when he ran out of his Belif Eucalyptus Herbal Extract Toner. He likes Belif but he thinks it is good to try out something new once in a while so I got him this Laneige Homme toner when it was first launched in end-2017. I tried it out in the store and really loved the unique masculine scent and its hydrating and refreshing texture.

Below are his thoughts after using it for about 5 months now (and almost finish using it).

Review: Sulwhasoo Anti-Aging Care Kit

Actually I have reviewed most of the products here, in my previous reviews on Sulwhasoo Ginseng Care Kit and Sulwhasoo Concentrating Ginseng Renewing Cream EX Light. So this review will focus mainly on the Luminature Essential Finisher and my general thought after using this for whole week during travelling.

Review: Whamisa Organic Flowers Olive Leaf Mist

My first Whamisa mist went expired before I can start using it so I bought this instead. I got mine from Althea Korea when it just introduced the brand Whamisa. I got this mist at only about RM70 after taking into account all the free gifts and discounts!

One thing very cool about Whamisa products is that they are all waterless, which means they are highly concentrated, undiluted skincare items. RM70 is not too overly overpriced since this is made of all pure organic extracts. Laneige mist that I like better is way pricier than this yet that one is made of mainly mineral water!

After using it for a good 5 months, I must say that this has quickly become one of my favourite facial mists this year! Let’s find out more about this Whamisa mist below!

Review: 3rific Premium Facial Oil

I received the Premium Face Oil as PR sample from 3rific a while ago. Actually, I asked for the cream, which I think I will like better, but they give me the oil, so let’s see how this face oil fares with my normal to dry skin!

Review: The Best Hair Care Routine that Cure Dandruff and Itchy Scalp

I have been struggling with itchy scalp and dandruff issues for over 8 years. I have tried many ways from diluted apple cider vinegar, dandruff shampoo, and scalp conditioner to scalp scrub but none really works in the long run. I still suffer from itchiness, inflammation and dandruff whenever I am sweating or just a few hours after shampooing. My dandruff is much mitigated after I started using Nizoral Shampoo.

Below I’m gonna share with you guys six products I used in the past one year that helps:

  • Innisfree Eco Beauty Tool Paddle Hair Brush
  • Lador Tea Tree Scalp Clinic Hair Pack
  • Lador Triplex Natural Shampoo
  • Nizoral Dandruff Shampoo
  • Panasonic Nanocare Hair Dryer Pink EH-NA45
  • Vmax Sensibalance Scalp Mask

Review: Sulwhasoo Essentrue Deep Nourishing Body Cream EX

Sulwhasoo products never disappoint. Now I am surprisingly pleased with the performance of this Sulwhasoo Essentrue Deep Nourishing Body Cream! It not only nourishes my dry and cracked body areas, but also helps to heal the painful peeling around my thumbs!

Review: Kiss Me Heroine Make Volume and Curl Mascara Advanced Film #01 and Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner Super Keep #01 Jet Black

It's hard to find mascara and eyeliner that satisfy my easily-smudged monolid. I have tried so many brands from Silky Girl, ZA, Rire, Missha, Innisfree and so on, but none actually work long enough without smudging an hour later. It was not until I found these Kiss Me products that I finally can settle down on them.

I got to know Kiss Me mascara and eyeliner through one of my favourite vloggers Hello Catie. She raved about Kiss Me mascara many times in her video. She said the Kiss Me Make Volume and Curl Mascara is the only mascara below RM50 that can help her lash to retain its curl and volume. Others tend to "fall" no matter how hard she tries, even with the help of a lash curler. This statement, prompts me to try out the Kiss Me Heroine Make Volume and Curl Mascara when I ran out of mascara. I only bought the Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner Super Keep from the same Heroine line, which I think would be a perfect match for the mascara.

Review: DIY Your Own Sun Cushion Using It's My Cushion from Althea Korea!

Sometimes you just can't guarantee all sunscreen you buy are lightweight and easily absorbed by the skin. But you can't throw them away either because those are things you buy with your own money. So, I came out with a creative way to better use sunscreens I bought that are not that lightweight and takes long time to be absorbed by the skin!

Review: Nizoral Shampoo with Ketoconazole 20mg/gm

I finally consulted a pharmacist when all anti-dandruff treatments I tried failed. Some, like Lador Tea Tree Scalp Mask and Innisfree Zero Shampoo work, but only temporarily. You need a real medicine for medical conditioner that ordinary over-the-counter remedies can’t help.

I am really glad that my pharmacist recommended me this Nizoral Shampoo. Nizoral Shampoo is basically a medicated shampoo with the active ingredient ketoconazole to kill fungi and yeasts. It works by stopping the fungi from producing a substance called ergosterol, which is an essential component of fungal cell membranes, which cause a hole to appear in the cell membrane. This will help to kill the fungi since their cell membranes are vital for their survival.

I got it, my problem comes from fungal infection, not dandruff alone. Those people in Yum Nam keeps asking me to spend thousands to exfoliate and clear out deeply trapped dead skin cells on my scalp, while in fact my problem can be easily solved with a medicated shampoo that costs me around RM30.

Review: La Palette Floral Peace Cleansing Oil

I receive the La Palette Floral Peace Cleansing Oil from Charis several months ago when I almost finished using my Heimish All Clean Balm. I was a cleansing balm fan in the past 2 years when I switched from cleansing oil to Banila Co and then Heimish All Clean Balm. I wanted to grab Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Cleansing Oil after I finished my Heimish, but guess what, the God knows better and Charis sent me their newly curated La Palette Cleansing Oil made of roses!

Comparison Review: Pixi Glow Tonic pk Krave Beauty Kale-Lalu-yAHA

I think many people used Pixi Glow Tonic before Krave. I did the opposite. I bought the Krave Beauty Kale-Lalu-yAHA first, then the Pixi Glow Tonic. I wanted to see how Krave Beauty works compared to Pixi since both products have similar glycolic acid concentration in it!

Below are my thoughts after using both side-by-side for a month now!

Review: Krave Beauty Kale-lalu-yAHA

Surprisingly, despite my less desirable experience with Pixi Glow Tonic, I'm actually doing quite well on this Krave Beauty Kale-lalu-yAHA! I bought Krave first, then the Glow Tonic, when Liah Yoo launched Krave Beauty. I was on a chemical exfoliant mood when I bought Krave so I also bought the Pixi Glow Tonic just for comparison purpose. I wanted to see what is so special about Pixi makes everyone raving about it. Somehow, I ended up loving Krave better than Pixi!

Review: Pixi Glow Tonic

Many people rave about Pixi Glow Tonic as their holy grail toner, a must-have in their skincare routine, especially those living in the Western countries. Well... Malaysian doesn't really have Pixi. Even when Sephora brings in it, it is only available online. So I don't really get a chance to try it out at Sephora. Most toners I have is hydrating toner, instead of exfoliating toner. So I am quite curious about this Pixi Glow Tonic that many people have raved about!

Below are my thoughts after using the product for more than 4 months now. Also be noted that I have used the toner more vigorously in the past one month!

Review: Belif Anti-Aging Soft Balm

I feel like I am always chasing behind Belif, picking up every single new launch of theirs, up to a point where I think I got obsessed. The same urge happened to me too when Belif launched their Anti-Aging Soft Balm. I bought it without thinking very carefully or reading up on it. I thought this will be like another Firming Essence but no... this is an extension to their famous The True Cream line, after Water Bomb, Aqua Bomb, Eye Bomb, and Moisturizing Bomb! Recently they also added a mist to the Bomb Bomb line. It was not until I started using the Anti-Aging Soft Balm that I realize... it is actually a moisturizer, not a balm or serum or essence! Strictly speaking, it is a lotion cream with anti-aging properties!!!

Review: Manyo Factory Galactomyces Niacin Special Treatment Essence

Manyo Factory was quite popular last year. Almost all Instagrammers I followed are sharing (and raving) about their products, especially this Galactomyces Niacin Special Treatment Essence which is said to be a cheaper and better alternative to SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. Manyo Factory even compared it to SK-II (vaguely) on their website and claimed their products a winner in all aspects!

Intrigued, I bought two to try out. One for my boyfriend, and another for his friend.

Below are their thoughts after using the product for close to 6 months now.

Review: Dr. Wu Intensive Renewal Serum With Mandelic Acid 18%

Actually I should review this like 6 months ago, but I have so many other things to review and I still have more than half left in the bottle hence the delay.

I started using Dr. Wu Intensive Renewal Serum With Mandelic Acid 18% about 8 months ago. I started with the 18% version as I am worried that the 8% one is too mild for my normal to dry skin. My mom uses the 8% version.

Basically, this mandelic acid serum is a chemical exfoliant made of alpha hydroxyl acid derived from almond. Its main function is to refine the skin texture, diminish fine lines, even out skin tone, and accelerate cellular turnover of the skin. It works like SK-II FTE or any other treatment essence, but at a much faster rate and is less pricey compared to those.

Let's look at the effect it has on mine and my mom's skin after 60 days of use!
