Review: Primary Raw DoYou Soy Milk Ferment Essence Skin

I am a sucker for pretty packaging, which means I am more inclined to buy something due to its appearance. I bought the Primary Raw DoYou Soy Milk Ferment Essence Skin mainly because it looks good, more so than I need a hydrating toner made of soymilk. All Primary Raw products have nice packaging that look elegant and artistic. You can reuse them as candle jar or vase and they will look gorgeous in any corner of your house! On top of that, I also like skincare that is made of soy, soymilk or tofu. Chinese people like to associate tofu with flawless skin, so this Primary Raw Soy Milk Essence Skin will give you the impression that using it will make your skin baby-soft and tofu-like.

Primary Raw DoYou Soy Milk Ferment Essence Skin is housed in a tall and beautiful glass bottle. I think it is designed in a way that you reuse it as a vase later. The bottle is pearly white in colour with a silver twist-open cap.

The Essence Skin comes in two layers of product, in the forms of whipped cream and watery essence. You need to shake the product well before using to mix both layers together. The Skin dispenses into a milky lotion that feels moisturizing on the skin. It has a mild milky scent that I like. Any skin types will do well with this, especially those with normal to dry skin.

Alternatively, you can also soak the product with a cotton pad and apply it all over your face as lotion mask. You can also use a compressed mask for the same purpose. The mask will function as a quick and easy skin brightening and moisturizing mask. Apply it for 5-10 minutes to enjoy a healthy glow in the coming hours!

INGREDIENTS ANALYSIS

This product uses mainly rice bran extract, sodium hyaluronate, camellia seed oil, green tea extract, ginkgo biloba extract, soymilk ferment, soybean seed extract, shea butter, and so on. These are things you mostly see in skin brightening and moisturizing products. Rice bran extract is used to soothe and revitalize the skin whereas soymilk and soybean are mostly used for skin brightening and nourishing purposes. We also have camellia seed oil, a lightweight oil that helps to seal in moisture and rejuvenate the skin. Green tea and ginkgo biloba, on the other hand, promotes blood circulation in the skin and provide anti-oxidizing benefits.

The toner also has moisturizing ingredients like hydrogenated polydecene, glycerin, panthenol, ceramide, and many more to give it its silky and moisturizing texture. Botanical oils are also added mainly as fragrance and natural preservatives here.

PERFORMANCE

This is a lightweight essence toner that will help to moisturize and revitalize your skin. It is suitable for dull, dry, and uneven skin tone, especially those with normal to drier skin. It contains moisturizing agents like shea butter, ceramide, sodium hyaluronate, soymilk and so on to repair and fortify your skin’s moisture barrier. Its milky texture also creates a light-reflecting sheen on your skin that gives you the envious “glow”.

Basically, this is a hydrating toner with skin brightening ingredients as well as healthy oil blend to bring glossiness to your skin.

CONCLUSION

I think I will have a stronger feeling about this toner had I bought it earlier. Now, after going through its Facial Creams and many other toners, this feels “meh” in many aspects. The texture is similar to Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Ampoule Skin. My skin is visibly brighter and dewier after using, but I can achieve that with many products as well, like Blithe Splash Mask, Laneige White Dew Ampoule Essence and so on. This is indeed a good hydrating toner that can make your skin brighter and dewier, but for some reasons I am no longer that excited about it. Using it doesn’t make me happier. The packaging, texture, scent, performance and everything about it feels boring. It is very unfortunate, but this is what I feel right now about this toner. I am just trying to finish it and will likely not repurchase after this.

Will update you guys with more info when I finish using it.
