Review: Jayjun Baby Pure Shining Mask

I have heard enough good things about this Jayjun Baby Pure Shining Mask (now renamed to Jayjun Intensive Shining Mask although the ingredients and such are more or less the same). Many said that this will hydrate while giving your skin a subtle glow. I thought of using this when my skin is feeling dull, rough and dry last night.

The Jayjun Baby Pure Shining Mask is a 3-step sheet mask consisted of boosting milky essence, brightening sheet mask and moisturizing eye cream. It is great for travelling to save your luggage space for eye cream and serum!

To use, you have to first tear open the step 1 - blooming essence, and then squeeze the milky essence inside to apply it all over your face. This is an essential step that contributes to that subtle glow because the sheet mask will later push these moisture and healthy oil into your skin and give you that glow.

This blooming essence is consisted of rose water, sodium hyaluronate, aloe vera, and multiple botanical oils to nourish and soothe your skin, and open it up for better skincare absorption. It has a nice floral scent and is quite fast-absorbing into the skin.

[INGREDIENTS] Water, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Propanediol, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil, Sclerocarya, Birrea Seed Oil, Betaine, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Sodium polyacrylate, Polysorbate 20, 1,2-Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Pentylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance

Next, we apply the baby pure shining mask.

It is a firm sheet soaked in slightly-viscous essence that will hydrate and moisturize your skin. I can definitely feel moisture flowing into my skin when I am wearing it. My skin stays moist after taking off the mask but it will dry down tacky, so you are advised to quickly press the essence into your skin when it is still moist. My skin feels a lot brighter and hydrated after 25 minutes on this mask. It has a mild floral scent so it will irritate your nose.

[INGREDIENTS] Water, Methylpropanediol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Niacinamide, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ceramide NP, Beta Glucan, Saccharo, myces/Viscum Album (Mistletoe) Ferment Extract, Lactobacillus/Soybean Ferment Extract, Saccharomyces/Imperata Cylindrica Root Ferment, Extract, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Trehalose, Betaine, Diethoxyethyl Succinate, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Methicone, Isohexadecane, Carbomer, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Tromethamine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PEG-40 Stearate, Steareth-2, Steareth-21, Allantoin, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA, Alcohol, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

This mask is made of a tonne of moisturizing ingredients like sodium hyaluronate, ceramide, beta glucan, as well as niacinamide with elasticity-improving and brightening properties. No wonder my skin is left so soft and moisturized!

Finally, the hydro eye cream step.

This is an emollient-rich and creamy eye cream that can double up as facial cream. Normally I just apply it all over my face after the sheet mask to lock in all nutrients and moisture. Despite how rich the cream is, it is not sticky which I like. However, one thing I dislike about this eye cream is its scent. It has a strong cosmetic scent I usually smell on my hair-serum scent that I dislike.

[INGREDIENTS] Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Cyclopentasiloxane, Beeswax, Dimethicone, Betaine, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl, Benzylamide Diacetate, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethic, One Crosspolymer, Pullulan, Butylene Glycol, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Acorus Gramineus Root/Stem Extract, Perilla Ocymoides, Leaf Extract, Porphyridium Cruentum Extract, Microcrystallin Wax, Synthetic Wax, C15-19 Alkane, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Polyacrylate-13, Tromethamine, Polyisobutene, Polysorbate 20, Disodium EDTA, Adenosine, Fragrance

Top the list is a bunch of emollients and moisturizing ingredients like propanediol, beeswax, jojoba seed oil, sodium hyaluronate, shea butter and many more. Nothing is particularly "essential" here. This is just a normal emollient cream to nourish your eye cream. This doesn't do much for your eyes or skin. I also notice that this somehow irritates my eyes area. I suffer a minor peel on the place where you get crow's feet a lot hence my skin is hurt whenever I put on the eye cream.

In short, this does hydrate and brighten up your skin by a good deal, especially right after applying it, as the sheet mask actually pushes all the moisture and botanical oils as well as the milky essence you apply earlier into your skin, something I call "force feeding". But the effect is not very long-lasting. When going through the ingredients, there is also nothing particularly sexy or delicious to attract my attention. I am most disappointed with the eye cream, its scent, its rich and creamy texture and how it hurts my skin after using. This is my first Baby Pure Shining Mask, so I will keep using to see if my opinion on it changes after prolonged usage.
