Review: CelebFace Sparkling Cleanser

Today, I am gonna share with you guys a super innovative, skin-tertaining and convenient cleanser, which is also my favourite cleanser in 2017! I received this from Charis last year when they approached me to review their newly launched Romand Eye Palette. So I downloaded and checked through the website and came across this very interesting Sparkling Cleanser. I am a sucker to anything sparkling so I also requested to try this one out. And I am so glad that Charis heard my plead and sent me this!

Read on to find out why this is my favourite cleanser in 2017!

This CelebFace Sparkling Cleanser is a foaming cleanser. But unlike other foaming cleanser where you have to lather manually, this foams up automatically the moment it touches your damp skin! I tried using it on dry face but I notice that it doesn't foam up that well on dry skin so I learn that you are best applying this on a damp skin.

This cleanser is not only auto-foaming, but it is also a makeup remover and cleanser in one. You can use it to remove your non waterproof makeup, especially eye shadow, powder, and sunscreen. Although it claims to remove heavy makeup, but I personally find it not as effective on heavy makeup, especially lip tint, so you are advised to use a cleansing oil if you are wearing waterproof makeup.

INGREDIENTS

Water, Disiloxane, Lauryl Glucoside, Alcohol Denat., Methyl Perfluorobutyl Ether, Methyl Perfluoroisobutyl Ether, 1,2-Hexanediol, Carbomer, Decyl Glucoside, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugarcane) Extract, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Yucca Filamentosa Extract, Sapindus Mukorossi Fruit Extract, Saponaria Officinalis Leaf Extract, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Codium Tomentosum Extract, Enteromorpha Compressa Extract, Gelidium Amansii Extract, Laminaria Japonica Extract, Macrocystis Pyrifera (Kelp) Extract, Salicornia Herbacea Extract, Spirulina Platensis Extract, Kjellmaniella Gyrata Extract, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Maltodextrin, Hydrogenated Lecithin, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance(Parfum)

INGREDIENTS ANALYSIS

Main surfactants used here are disiloxane, lauryl glucoside, and decyl glucoside, all of which are safe cleansing agents, safer than those commonly used in normal foaming cleanser.

Subsequent to that there is a long list of botanical extracts such as sugarcane, carrageen moss, rosehip oil, soapwort, green seaweed, kelp, spirulina and many more. I do notice that this product uses a lot of marine-derived ingredients such as algae and seaweed. Different types of hyaluronic acid are also included here for added moisture.

The formulation appears rather clean, with gentle surfactants, a lot of moisturizing ingredients and very little potential irritants.

PERFORMANCE

Next, I try it on damp hand, which means I smooth the product using damp hand. I noticed that massaging does help to remove the makeup better compared to just leaving it on, but the difference is minimum. In other words, you'll do fine just letting the product to foam up and cleanse on its own. Manual massaging may not be necessary.

In addition, this product does not remove lip tint well. I can still see traces of waterproof eyeliner after rinsing. It works well on eyeshadow though!

CONCLUSION

There is a reason why I was so obsessed about this cleanser a few months ago. It is convenient, effortless, hassle-free, and all-in-one. I enjoy how the bubbles keep popping when I have it on my face. I can just pump 2~3 pumps, then apply it all over my face and enjoy the refreshing pop of 10,000ppm tiny bubbles. When I rinse it, I will get a clean and fresher-looking skin! I don't even need a cleansing water before this. And the bonus is of course the enticing rose scent. I wanted to buy Nature Republic Real Fresh Rose Mousse Foam Cleanser but I am glad that I didn't right now because this one is much better.

This feels like the cleanser version of the super popular Son & Park Beauty Water. No wonder it calls itself a celebrity's favourite!
