Review: Innisfree Black Green Tea Cream

Honestly, I buy this cream mainly for the black green tea. I am never a fan of wash-off mask. I also have a lot of anti-aging essence and cream to finish so need is never something that attracts me. I buy this black green tea cream simply because I love black green tea. I can’t forget how excited I feel when I first saw Innisfree’s advertisement on the black green tea line. The whole fermentation and cultivation process feels so… authentic and sensational. I like black tea, from the scent, texture to the taste. I love how it helps to clear off bio-waste and oxidation inside my body. I simply can’t wait to slap this on my face!

Review: Kose Sekkisei White Liquid Wash

I fell in love with this White Liquid Wash from Kose Sekkisei ever since Kose sent me their products for review two years ago, thanks to the Butterfly Project. I never thought I would venture into Kose products that soon. I thought I will need at least 2 years to finally touch on Kose. Now, I totally can't get over the White Liquid Wash and Kose Sekkisei Lotion! Their Sun Protect Essence Gel is also one of my all-time favourites!

Let's take a closer look at this White Liquid Wash that I have since repurchased twice (but only review now)!

Review: Belif Moisture Bomb Cushion - Natural Beige Double Bullet SPF50+ PA+++

You guys know I don't use cushion foundation all the time. I don't like to wear makeup because they tend to break me out. I believe in using skincare as makeup. For instance, I always use the LJH Vita Propolis Ampoule as natural highlighter. But if I were to use a cushion foundation, then it has to be this Moisture Bomb Cushion Double Bullet from Belif!

I got this from Belif some time ago, and it has since become my favourite cushion foundation during the must-makeup occasions!

Review: Huxley Be Clean, Be Moist Cleansing Water

I mentioned earlier that I am a collector. I collected and tried over 100 Innisfree products, 60 Belif products and a majority of the Huxley ones. Among them, I have tried out the essences, toner, oil, creams, sunscreen, masks and now… the Cleansing Water and Cleansing Gel! I just bought the Cleansing Gel not long ago so I don’t have a review for that one yet, but I am more than ready to talk about the Cleansing Water that I have half emptied.

Let’s go through this elegant and wonderfully-scented Huxley Secret of Sahara Cleansing Water; Be Clean, Be Moist below.

Review: Primary Raw DoYou Soy Milk Ferment Essence Skin

I am a sucker for pretty packaging, which means I am more inclined to buy something due to its appearance. I bought the Primary Raw DoYou Soy Milk Ferment Essence Skin mainly because it looks good, more so than I need a hydrating toner made of soymilk. All Primary Raw products have nice packaging that look elegant and artistic. You can reuse them as candle jar or vase and they will look gorgeous in any corner of your house! On top of that, I also like skincare that is made of soy, soymilk or tofu. Chinese people like to associate tofu with flawless skin, so this Primary Raw Soy Milk Essence Skin will give you the impression that using it will make your skin baby-soft and tofu-like.

Review: Hada Labo Hydrating Water Gel

I am always on the lookout for cheaper alternatives to my holy grail facial cream – the Belif The True Cream – Aqua Bomb. Then I found this Hydrating Water Gel from Hada Labo.

Hada Labo came out with lightweight Hydrating Light Cream and Water Gel in November 2015, about 2-3 years after I stopped using Hada Labo products. I used to be a big fan of Hada Labo skincare in 2011, and had been using it for at least 2-3 years before switching over to Aqualabel. I remembered hating Hada Labo moisturizers a lot back then. My hate for emulsion in general probably stems from the negative experience I had with the super gluey and uncomfortable texture of Hada Labo Hydrating Milk. It’s rather unfortunate that Hada Labo didn’t come out with any lightweight cream back then. Otherwise, my skincare journey in 2011-2014 would be much easier and happier.

Anyway, let’s now look at the Hada Labo Hydrating Water Gel that I think is a cheaper alternative to my holy grail Belif Aqua Bomb!

Review: Belif Creamy Cleansing Foam Moist

I crowned Belif Creamy Cleansing Foam Moist my favourite cleanser in 2015 and 2016. In 2017, my favourite foaming cleanser award goes to Celeb Face Sparkling Cleanser since I did not use Belif Creamy Cleansing Foam Moist the whole last year. However, I know I will prefer Belif over Celeb Face if I were to use Belif in 2017.

But recently, I came across a new cleanser created by famous vlogger Liah Yoo - the Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser, that I think I like better than Belif. So I opened a new tube that I bought last year to see if I still prefer Belif or will shift my love towards Krave Beauty.

Below is my thought after trying both products out side-by-side for a month:

Review: Huxley 5-Layer Pure Cotton Pads

Huxley is so hard to resist! I collected nearly all of their products, from the essences, oil, creams, sunscreen, cleansers, toners, masks, to lip balm. And now… their 5-layers cotton pad made of 100% cotton! I bought this from Wako Beauty a few months ago and it has since become my most go-to cotton pad. Let’s look at the product in more details!

Review: Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser and Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask

I knew I had to try it when Glow Recipe came out with these super-innovative, multitasking and performance-oriented skincare products. Glow has been a huge advocate for multitasking skincare products. They are the one who introduce me to things like pressed serum, essence toner, splash mask, in-shower mask and so on. I also agree with them that sometimes a good and effective product matters more than putting on 10 different stuffs on my skin in a routine. Besides, I sometimes just end my nighttime routine with a treatment essence and sleeping mask!

Now let's look at these two super multitasking skincare products presented by Glow Recipe:

  • a cleanser that combines makeup removing and normal cleansing in one while functioning as a hydrating mask
  • a sleeping mask that combines exfoliation, hydration, and overnight treatment in one

Review: Belif The White Decoction - Ultimate Brightening Bubble Mask

I finally bought it...! The ever-interesting, seemingly-innovative, and fun-to-apply bubble mask from my favourite brand Belif! This is not the first bubble mask in the market. We have Elizavecca, SU:M37, Mediheal, Jayjun, etc. that carry some form of bubble masks already. But for a "truthful" and "ingredients-oriented" brand like Belif to bring this formula in? That's something that's worth checking out for.

Review: Medi Heally Herb Warm Pack and Waist Warm Patch that Helps with Menstrual Pain!

You know the time when you just need a warm bag during those special days in a month and realize that you didn't carry any when you're travelling or at work? A portable, compact, and one-time-use warm pack will do the trick!

I found these Medi Heally Herb Warm Pack when I was shopping at Althea. Wako Beauty used to have them but for some reason it is no longer carrying them. I couldn't find a lot of info on Medi  Heally except knowing that it produces these warm pack for your period time and waist.

Now... these warm pack have become an essential part of my monthly "routine", which I really want to share with you guys!

Review: Hada Labo Kiwamizu Lotion

Honestly, I bought this because I need a pre-masking hydrating mist. I normally apply sheet mask at night, a few hours apply my nighttime routine, so it would be counter-intuitive to wash my face or damp it with toner to help the sheet mask apply better. So I reckon a lightweight hydrating mist made of mostly water and minerals will do the trick, which is why I opted for this huge and economic Hada Labo Kiwamizu Lotion!

Recommending 8 Sunscreen Alternatives for Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence

I was asked this question many times - what are the alternatives for Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence if I cannot get it in my countries (for whatever reasons), or if I happen to dislike its 2017 reformulation?

So in today's review, I have compiled a list of 8 sunscreen alternatives for those of you who love Biore sunscreen (its texture especially!) but cannot get it or use it for whatever reasons!

Here are the 8 sunscreens that I will mention below:

  • A'pieu Pure Block Aqua Sun Gel SPF50+ PA+++
  • Hada Labo Perfect UV Gel SPF50+ PA++++
  • Kiss Me Sunkiller Perfect Water Essence SPF50+ PA++++
  • Kose Sekkisei Sun Protect Essence Gel SPF50+/PA++++
  • Laneige Aqua Sun Screen SPF 35 PA++
  • L'Oreal Paris UV Perfect Aqua Essence SPF50 | PA++++
  • Make P:rem UV Defense Me Capsule Sun Gel SPF50+ PA+++
  • Missha Aqua Sun Gel SPF50+ / PA+++

Review: Jayjun Multi-Vita Tone Up Mask

This was claimed to be a skin soothing and brightening mask made of multivitamins. It contains vitamin C, E, B3, B5 and B6 to brighten up and even up your skin tone. And it is one of the few Jayjun masks that only come in single sheet!

Comparison Review of Make P:rem Sunscreens: Capsule Sun Gel vs. Blue Ray Sun Gel

I cannot stress enough the importance of applying sunscreen everyday, although I know many people including myself is reluctant is slather that rich and sticky layer on our skin. The good news is, cosmetic brands are now coming out with lighter texture, more user-friendly sunscreens without compromising its sun protecting ability! I had a few sunscreens that I love putting on everyday, and among them are these two highly popular sunscreens from Make P:rem.

I talked about them in my previous reviews already but since I got asked a few questions about the differences between them, I want to devote a separate post on that to help you make a better choice!

Comparison Review of Four Mise en Scene Hair Serum and Essence

I did several reviews before to share my thoughts on the Mise en Scene hair serums. I loved the original version much more than its other variation. As such, only the Perfect Repair Hair Serum was my constant repurchase. Even the Rose Edition isn't as good as the original one in my opinion. Let's read on to find out more details about my thoughts on these products!

Review: Mise en Scene Perfect Base Up Essence

I bought this the moment when it was available on Gmarket. I am a fan of Mise en Scene hair serum so I am pretty excited that they are expanding the line!

This particular base up essence is made of botanical oils like camellia oil, jojoba seed oil, coconut oil, birch seed oil, olive oil, kernel oil and so on to hydrate your hair and act as a base essence for any other hair styling and blow-drying.

Review: Jayjun Baby Pure Shining Mask

I have heard enough good things about this Jayjun Baby Pure Shining Mask (now renamed to Jayjun Intensive Shining Mask although the ingredients and such are more or less the same). Many said that this will hydrate while giving your skin a subtle glow. I thought of using this when my skin is feeling dull, rough and dry last night.

The Jayjun Baby Pure Shining Mask is a 3-step sheet mask consisted of boosting milky essence, brightening sheet mask and moisturizing eye cream. It is great for travelling to save your luggage space for eye cream and serum!

Review: CelebFace Sparkling Cleanser

Today, I am gonna share with you guys a super innovative, skin-tertaining and convenient cleanser, which is also my favourite cleanser in 2017! I received this from Charis last year when they approached me to review their newly launched Romand Eye Palette. So I downloaded and checked through the website and came across this very interesting Sparkling Cleanser. I am a sucker to anything sparkling so I also requested to try this one out. And I am so glad that Charis heard my plead and sent me this!

Read on to find out why this is my favourite cleanser in 2017!

Review: A.H.C The Real Eye Cream For Face - Special Day

I bought this A.H.C The Real Eye Cream For Face - Special Day a few months ago out of my love for A.H.C eye cream. I have been their fans since Season 3. Recently I also bought the newly released Season 6 but dumped it when the smell gave me headache.

This Special Day is a sub of Season 5. There is also a Special Night collection but I opted for the lighter Special Day version. I also need something like this in my office. The normal eye cream would be too rich and creamy for regular uses so this will be perfect.

I got this from Nanamall at RM 50, but you can also get this from Gmarket, Testerkorea, Qoo10 (White Skin) and many other trusted sellers. I know there is a lot of fakes out there so you hafta be extra careful when buying A.H.C eye cream.

Review: Earth's Recipe Stemwater Cleanser, Gigawhite Radiance Serum, Moisture Light Cream and Moisture Brightening Cream

I bought this Earth’s Recipe skincare set from Althea Korea when it was only RM 84 for four. Not really a great bargain because the products are gonna expire within 6-9 months or so, but pretty good as a starter set into the brand. I got to know Earth’s Recipe through Glow Recipe, a popular kbeauty curator based in US. I love how Earth’s Recipe is said to be genuine products made of naturally derived ingredients. I was also amazed when Glow Recipe shows video of how the key ingredient used in Earth’s Recipe’s products, the tremella mushroom, grows into ten folds its own size after absorbing water. As a sucker for all moisturizing products, I am really curious to know how the tremella mushroom inside these Earth’s Recipe products will feel on my skin.

Below are my thoughts after using the products for approximately 4-6 months now!

Review: SK-II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion and Facial Treatment Essence

I never one day imagine that I will buy this SK-II Facial Treatment Clear Toner and Essence. They are both luxury cosmetics that felt like only the rich can afford. The 230ml SK-II Facial Treatment Essence is currently retailed at RM715 when I passed by its counter yesterday. It was RM620 last year and now suddenly it is RM100 higher. And imagine also that our fresh grads from decent universities can only get like RM2,500 a month, does RM715 sound absurdly expensive? It is not difficult to understand why now many cheaper dupes came to the market. Among them, Missha, Secret Key and IOPE are some really good ones. Dupes that are not really “dupes” like Kiehl’s, Primera, Biotherm, SU:M37 are also making their kicks in the market, expanding their shares in this profitable “treatment essence” category. But why then I am going back to SK-II? The answer is simple – because it works, and it works much better than its dupes.

Review: L'Occitane Reine Blanche Whitening Cream

I bought the L'Occitane Reine Blanche Whitening Cream about a year ago. I was kinda obsessed with plant-based western skincare brands like Melvita back then, which led me to explore brands like L'Occitane. Besides, many Taiwanese bloggers I followed are raving about L'Occitane products too, especially this Reine Blanche line which means "the white queen" in French.

Review: Loveisderma Deep Hydrating Bio-Cellulose Mask

I received this premium bio-cellulose hydrating mask from Loveisderma some times ago. The product comes in a box of three, and today I just finished using the last one (the third one) so I am ready to share my thoughts on it below!

Loveisderma used to be available at Hermo Malaysia but now you can only find it in Beautibi, Yesstyle, and Taiwan. I am not sure why they stopped selling it at Malaysia though. It was retailed for RM 49 at Hermo Malaysia though so you can tell that this is a premium mask as it costs more than RM 15 each.

Loveisderma only carries one sheet mask item, which is this Deep Hydrating Bio-Cellulose Mask. It claims to have outstanding moisture-retention properties with the ability to hold up to 100 times fluid of its dry weight. The mask is made of premium bio-cellulose fiber, and can fit perfectly onto your skin to constantly supply your skin with hydration.

In a way, this feels like Innisfree's Second Skin Mask!

Review: Primary Raw Doyou Azulene Calming Water

I am just gonna briefly talk about this Primary Raw Doyou Azulene Calming Water I got from the Malaysian official website at 20% discount last year. I am a fan of Primary Raw Azulene line. I adore the Azulene Gel Cream, which is why I really wanna try this mist out. But after half way through it, I am quite disappointed to say that this is not something I like. More precisely, this is one of my least favourite mists! Read on to find out why!

Review: Sulwhasoo Trufresh Soothing Mask

My experience with the Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Mask was quite so-so. To me, it is nothing more than a ginger-smelling moisturizing mask made of premium ingredients. I didn't see any skin repairing or rejuvenating effects after finish using the entire tube. And the texture is too thick for my liking. This also explains why I opt for the Sulwhasoo Trufresh Soothing Mask. It carries all the Sulwhasoo goodies like peony, lotus, licorice, and many other herbal extracts, but with a much pleasant texture that my skin enjoys.

Let's look at the Trufresh Soothing Mask in more details below!

January to March 2018 Sheet Mask Review

I am posting this review like doing a statutory payment or claim or something.

Actually most of the masks reviewed here are also featured in my earlier reviews so I'm just give a very short one here.

Basically, these are the masks I finished using in the past three months. I don't want to repeat my review hence I will put a link down for each mask so that you can check them out if you are interested in reading further!

  • Aritaum Hyaluronic Acid Mask
  • Innisfree My Real Squeeze Rose Mask
  • L’herboflore Orchid Whitening Hydromask
  • Mediheal Black Ship Circle Point Mask
  • Mediheal Capsule 100 Bio Seconderm Clear Hyaluronic Acid Mask
  • Paparecipe Bombee Whitening Honey Mask
  • Petitfee Gold & EGF Mask Sheet
  • Skin Factory Silky Dream Cream Mask
  • The Face Shop Soothing Face Mask

Review: Mediheal Capsule 100 Bio Seconderm Clear Hyaluronic Acid Mask

I bought this together with other Mediheal's newly released sheet masks few months ago. This costs KRW 4,000 (or RM 12) so I only got one for each flavour. This is essentially a 2-step facial mask that will help to keep your skin clear and moist after using. Key ingredient used in the 2nd step is hyaluronic acid essence.

Review: SU:M37˚ Water-Full Special Gift Set

This is the third time I shared about SU:M37 products. Basically, it is a Korean premium skincare brand formulated using fermented ingredients. I always want to try out SU:M37 products, not because it is one of those "high-end" products in Korea, but also because I like everything fermented. I love natto, kimchi, miso, and many more. I also love those essences made of fermented yeast extract. I spent a good deal of time studying fermented food in my third college year (one course out of four that I took) so I know how beneficial they are to us.

Today, we are looking at this super hydrating but lightweight waterfull hydrating line from SU:M37.

Review: Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser

There is a reason why Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser suddenly become so popular all over the internet and Instagram. They are as popular as major brands like The Ordinary and Pixi! Many people are offering pre-order services for these lovely products so you can see the demand here in Malaysia! Of course, that is also mostly attributable to its founder, Liah Yoo, who is known for her work in advocating effective and minimal skincare practices. She has many videos that promote this concept. In a world where less is more now, sometimes we might want to ask ourselves, does quantity matter more than quality? Is a minimalist life (and skincare practice) more beneficial than having 10 steps routine every day?

Without further ado, let's go straight to my review!

Review: Lador Triplex Natural Shampoo

After my positive experience with Lador, in particular the Lador Tea Tree Scalp Clinic Hair Pack, I am really keen to try this Triple x3 Natural Shampoo out! It looks like it is from the same line as the Tea Tree Scalp Clinic Hair Pack that works really well on my scalp. I also like how it claims to be all natural without any harsh chemicals for your scalp! So when I saw it available on Qoo10 for only RM60-70, I didn't hesitate to click that "add to cart" button.

Now let's see if this product lives up to my expectation!

Beauty Haul Review: My Experience Buying from AK Plaza and Amore Pacific Mall on Gmarket via CJ Logistics!

I can't believe that I am buying again! But yeah... it happens, and those "no-buy months" are just bullshit that kbeauty lovers invent. It is hard to stop buying things we love, especially brands are coming out with better deals and innovative newbies.

Review: Aqua Peeling Swab - Are They Worth The Hype?

The aqua peeling trend emerges in the k-beauty industry about 1-2 years ago. REME+G is one of the few to come out with aqua peeling mask. It combines aqua swab, brightening ampoule and sheet mask into one and sells them as an over-the-counter beauty remedy. Slowly, brands like It's Skin, The Saem, A'pieu, Nightingale, Mediheal, Primary Raw, Tony Moly and so on are catching up on their own aqua peeling kit.

In today's review, we are gonna talk about several aqua peeling products and the whole aqua peel trend and whether or not it is worth the hype!

Review: Biotherm Life Plankton Essence

The fragrance is one thing that lures me into Biotherm. I remembered walking around AEON Mid Valley one day and deliberately trying out new brands when I somehow bumped into Biotherm. I was hooked the moment I tried out the Life Plankton Essence on my hand. Not the texture, but the scent. It kept coming back to haunt me until I had to get my hand on one.

Well to be honest I was not really a fan of Biotherm Life Plankton Essence. I find it kinda sticky. But I know many people are raving about it, claiming that it has helped them achieved a fairer, smoother, and baby-soft skin. It is especially hot in Taiwan where girls are using it as lotion mask and rave about how it transforms their skin in just 8 days. Well I don't believe in 8 days miracle but I do want to try it out for myself and lets look at my findings below!

Review: Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Ampoule Skin

I love Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater line a lot, which you can see in my previous review. Hence, I was pretty excited to get its Ampoule Skin after I finished using the Essence from the same line. I was thinking about the normal skin at first, but since I never try the Ampoule Skin, I am really curious to see how well will this product works with the addition of moisturizing ampoule.

Review: Lirikos Marine Oxygenic Essence EX

I can't believe that I am only reviewing this now. I started using this a few years ago, and despite the price (RM 250++), I still bought the full size product. I guess I just kinda assume that all of you know that I love this - the Lirikos Marine Oxygenic Essence EX. This review is meant for those who don't follow my blog, yet want to know more about the product before buying it!

Review: Make P:rem In-Shower Face Mask

I won this in a giveaway event organized by Soko Beauty, and I am really happy about it because I always want to give the Make P:rem In-Shower Face Mask a try after my positive experience with its Radiance Cleansing Pack! After all, you don't get to see a lot of "in-shower mask" in other places. Make P:rem is one of the innovative brands to come out with one. It makes skincare less time-consuming and easier. I don't like wash-off mask in general, but I am okay with those that takes less than 5 minutes. This In-Shower Face Mask happens to belong to the latter.

Thank you!

Alright, let's head straight to the review!

Review: The Ordinary Buffet

I should have reviewed this earlier, but I kept it for very last because I just couldn't make up my mind on it. Many people who used it rave about it. It claims to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and many others. But for me, it doesn't seem to do much. I tried using it on my neck, fine lines, laugh lines and whole face, but I just couldn't see any improvements in my skin, not even when I finished the last drop of this serum.

Read on if you won't mind to get disappointed!

Review: Mentholatum Selsun Blue Dandruff Treatment Shampoo (Medicated)

I bought this at Mentholatum Malaysia warehouse sales at about RM 20. It was a good buy as the expiry date is still long and I have been wanting to try the product out for so long!

I have dandruff scalp that even my bf complains about. None of the shampoos I tried works well for my dandruff. I have no choice but to go for this medicated dandruff treatment shampoo. The medicines inside is far less significant than real medicated dandruff shampoo hence you can use it frequently like a few times a week.
