Review: Papa Recipe Bombee Whitening Honey Mask Pack

Papa Recipe was one of the masks that you wouldn't pay much attention of if you go to Korea. It looks like one of those Taiwanese masks with cute packaging and lovely titles though. And frankly speaking, except for TT masks, most Taiwanese masks fail to impress me. They are not bad, but they are just too ordinary to be impressive. I thought the Papa Recipe mask was also a Taiwanese masks until Meejmuse talked about it in her video. Naturally, intrigued, I bought one to try it out myself. I got mine from Hermo several months ago at around RM 7-8. There are many fake ones out there so I am quite careful when buying the Papa Recipe masks.

Anyhow, let's read on to find out more about what I think about the masks!

The mask comes in a cute packaging with honey comb design. The mask is held between pearl sheet when you cut it open. There is a strong honey and floral scent when you take the mask out. There isn't any essence left in the pocket though.

You apply this after cleansing and toning. First you take off the pearl sheet, then gently adheres the mask onto your face. You hold the mask close to your face, make sure to remove the air saps so that the mask adheres perfectly to your skin.

I had it on for about 30 minutes. I noticed that the left hand side of my cheek and forehead had started to dry off so I took the mask off and put it on my knees so as not to "waste" any leftover essence. Don't leave it for too long though as your skin only has so much to absorb.

The mask comes with a slightly viscous and sticky clear essence. It will leave a slight tacky finish after you remove the mask.

Ingredients-wise, I am delighted to find that niacinamide is listed here. This ingredient is one of my favorites to get rid of freckles and improve my skin's elasticity. We also have a lot of soothing and moisturizing ingredients like propanediol, trehalose, panthenol, arginine, sodium hyaluronate, honey, propolis, royal jelly and some herbal extracts. Diamond powder is also added to create a glowing effect.

Performance-wise, I can see that my skin is slightly brighter (sparkling bright) due to the diamond powder inside. I noticed the brightness before learning about the existence of the diamond powder so my opinion is not biased. My skin definitely feels more moisturized but not really hydrated. The essence seems to stay on the outer layer not anything deeper. The brightening effect is also not very long-lasting compared to say Innisfree Second Skin Brightening Mask.

Overall, a decent brightening mask for bees and propolis lover. Would recommend that you check it out. Not impressed. Still have one more left. Might not repurchase.
