Review: Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Melting Clay Mask

By the time I review about this, I'm gonna be wanting the newly released Color Clay Mask already!! So yeah, this is kinda like a belated review, but it still has its value of existence and I am sure there are people who still want to give this a try.

Talking about the Color Clay Mask, I think it is a great idea (so cute and interesting!), but if they can come out with a 7-in-1 medium size kit then it's gonna be better! I think I might try out some of them to see how it differs from all other ones I've tried!

Mega Huxley Haul Review And My Experience Shopping from Sweet Corea!

Sweet Corea is not very popular among the beauty community. It is lesser known if compared to Jolse, Koreadepart, RoseRoseShop and Testerkorea. So I think many of you must be curious how it feels like shopping from Sweet Corea, which is the reason that motivates me to write this review!

I have been shopping from Sweet Corea since 2015, from Malaysian Gmarket Qoo10, so the shop is legit and it is selling authentic products.  My only complaint is that they tend to give me free products that have passed the expiry date. The products I bought have long expiry date though, but I don't like how they pretend to be giving me free stuffs when they actually are not because I won't be using those stuffs anyway.

It is cheaper to buy from Qoo10 if you only get 1-2 products because you can save on shipping. But if you were to get 5-6 items and above, then buying directly from their official website would be much more economic. They are known as "SweetBox" in Qoo10.

Shipping takes approximately 2 weeks from the day you place order. They normally don't notify you about the progress of the order, but you can always email them and ask. They do response on Facebook though. They will notify you if a product is out of stock and ask if you would prefer a replacement or a refund through email so make sure to check your email otherwise you will be kept waiting for a long time.

Review: Olivarrier Squalane Fluid Oil I Received from Jolse

I have never been a fan of oil, not only in term of diet but also in skincare. I don't know why, but all women at my age are taught to avoid oil in every aspect of their lives since childhood. This law is only overthrown recently in diet, and women are starting to appreciate having a bit of oil in their foods and also their skin. I don't want to go into the diet part because it would be lengthy and complex, let's focus on what oil can do for our skin.

Gothamista did an excellent video touching various benefits of face oils can bring for different skin types and needs. Allure also highlighted the four major benefits, which are anti-oxidizing, soothing, moisturizing, and boosting that face oils offer in our daily skincare regime.

Different types of face oils have different properties thus distinctive benefits. Lavender oil, for instance, is particularly good at soothing and calming down your skin, which is why you see it is used in many products that offer aroma-therapeutic benefits like Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spots Solution. Tea tree oil is another star in various anti-acne products, most notably Naruko and The Body Shop tea tree lines. Almost all sheet masks especially Taiwanese one contains some sort of citrus oil like bergamot, grapefruit, lime or lemon. Argan oil and marula oil are commonly used in hair care products for their deep nourishing properties. For our review today, we have squalane oil derived from olive. I want to thank Jolse for sending me this adorable Squalane Oil from Olivarrier in exchange of an honest review.

Haul Review: Althea Korea's Chok Chok Box

It is summer time (at least in Malaysia, the weather is still freaking hot)! A perfect time for some ice-cream, swimming suit as well as to get chok-chok!

I received this Chok Chok Box from the lovely Althea early this month so I am really excited to share it with you guys! You guys know I rarely do makeup posts, mostly because I don't makeup a lot and I am not particularly good at doing that, but the makeup items in this box is so pretty that I use it everyday after receiving it!

There are 6 items in the Althea's Chok Chok Box:

  • Laneige Water Bank Mineral Skin Mist 60ml

  • A'Pieu Creamy Cheek-Chok Blusher CR01
  • Milky Dress Barbie Make Color Pop Tint [Delight Coral]

Not A Treatment Essence - Review: Blithe Vital Treatment 5 Energy Roots

I was interested in the Blithe Vital Treatment Essence after watched several Youtube videos by Glow Recipe sharing and raving about this product. My desire to try out at least one of its Vital Treatment Essences is even stronger after my positive encounter with the Chaga Tundra Pressed Serum! So I didn't hesitate to order one from its Korean official store when Gmarket had a shipping promotion. The product costed me altogether RM 140 shipping from Korea. Currently, it is available at RM 159 at Sephora so you can cut the wait time and head to Sephora to test it out now!

If you follow my blog, you know that I am a crazy fan of anything treatment essence. I tried out a whopping 16 different treatment essences, which I have reviewed here (I, II), and I am always on the look out for more. However, despite my high hope for this Blithe essence, it sadly doesn't fulfill the criteria that I am looking for in a treatment essence. In the end, I just have to give up and say that this is not a "real" treatment essence. It is more like an essence toner with some fancy ingredients. Read on to find out more about my rationale below!

Comparison Review: I'm Disappointed with Lador Hydro LPP Treatment Reformulation!

I have been really loving Lador  Hydro LPP Treatment, which you can see in my previous review. It is really lightweight without any greasiness often associated with hair conditioner or treatment. None of the hair treatment I used is as effective and as lightweight as Lador, so I thought I would stick to it forever without trying out other ones. It was not until its recent reformulation that changes how I think about the product!

Review: Kose Sekkisei Herbal Gel

Japanese cosmetic brands are known for their unique, all-in-one, bouncy gel technology.  Hada Labo, for instance, carries multiple perfect gel creams for brightening, firming, UV-protecting and intense hydrating purposes. So I am not surprised when Kose comes out with its unique innovative gel technology that is said to possess anti-inflammatory, suppleness enhancing, smoothing, ultra nourishing, hydrating and radiance boosting benefits. It is essentially a moisturizer, but you can also use it as an overnight mask (for normal/dry skin) or tissue-off mask (for oily/combination skin).

A Failed Dupe for Primera Mild Peeling Gel - Review: Innisfree Oat Mild Moisture Peeling Gel

I screamed in joy when I first opened and used this Moisture Peeling Gel from Innisfree because I thought "wow! I've found the cheaper alternative for my beloved Primera Mild Peeling Gel!". But this excitement only lasts for a couple of days because my impression towards this Innisfree Oat Moisture Peeling Gel worsens as I use it, where I have to declare finally that this is a failed dupe for Primera Mild Peeling Gel! Read on to find out why below!

Review: Belif The True Tincture Cleansing Stick - Chamomile

I talked about SU:M37 Miracle Rose Cleansing  Stick in my previous review. I kinda enjoyed the product but not to the extend of raving about it or wanting to make a repurchase. I am not sure why, maybe the one that I got was a fake ? Who knows? Since I got it online. So I bought another cleansing stick again from a different brand Belif at its local flagship store. Most online reviews on Belif claims that it is more or less the same as  SU:M37 so I want to see whether or not my perception on cleansing stick is consistent with this Belif one. Let's read on to find out more about it!

Review: Yuri Pibu Cucu Maronza Eye Cream

Truffle is a real thing in Asian cosmetics. In Chinese, it is called 松露, which is a type of fungus that are believed to possess skin brightening, melanin suppressing, and anti-oxidizing benefits. I couldn't find a lot of research backing the skincare efficacy of black diamond truffle, which is the truffle species used in this eye cream.

The Klog, a blog edited by the famous kbeauty curator Soko Glam, however, writes a really nice article on white truffle. This plant is said to have antioxidizing, immunity-boosting, anti-aging, wrinkles-repairing, dark spots reducing and skin repairing properties. Basically, everything you ever want to make sure you still look baby-doll-like and well polished. But it doesn't go into details about black truffle. Verve magazine ranked black diamond truffle as one of the 5 premium ingredients to achieve a flawless complexion. Glow Recipe, which curates this product on its website, claims that black truffle contains super moisturizing lipids that are essential components of the skin to help filling up cracks and dry lines in the skin. It also contains superoxide dismutase, a type of enzyme with powerful antioxidizing properties to reduce signs of aging.

Asides from black diamond truffle, this product also contains sarcodon imbricatus, a type of tooth fungus that is also edible, more commonly known as the scaly hedgedog to the consumers. In skincare, it has the ability to soothe and protect the skin from aggressors by boosting immunity of the skin. It is also rich in polysaccharides, sterols, fatty acids and polyphenols to offer ample anti-aging and wrinkles-repairing benefits.

So let's look at the product that carries these two super luxurious ingredients - the Yuri Pibu Cucu Maronza Eye Cream

Perfect For Oily-Dehydrated and Acne-Prone Skin - Review: Belif Eucalyptus Herbal Extract Toner and Oil Control Moisturizer Fresh

I talked about Belif Eucalyptus Herbal Extract Toner and Oil Control Fresh Moisturizer many times in my previous review, especially when it involves my bf who has acne-prone, sensitive and oily-dehydrated skin. He is a person who rarely drinks water, does a lot of outdoor activities (physically active) and almost never consumes enough vegetables. Hence, he has been suffering from oily skin, blemish and big pores. His condition has improved a little when he starts adding Kiehl's calendula products into his routine, and his oily skin problem is much mitigated with Kiehl's Oil Eliminator Moisturizer. But you'll notice that none of these actually addresses his dehydrated skin. So his blemish always in a come-and-go condition, until after he switches to the Belif Eucalyptus Toner and Fresh Moisturizer.

Let's look at these toner and emulsion duo that get him hooked in the past 4 months:

Review: LJH Probiotics Sleeping Cream

I have always been looking out for good product for my bf with severely inflamed, acne-prone and dehydrated-oily skin. He has visible pores, loads of acne and very uneven complexion. When I came across this LJH Probiotics Sleeping Cream, I was immediately sold because it fits everything I ever want in a moisturizer and seems perfect for my bf.

This stuff is not cheap. It is retailed for $48 in USA and KRW 42,000 in Korea, although sometimes with discount at kbeauty stores like RoseRoseShop, Testerkorea, Koreadepart and Sweet Corea. But since you can use this to treat, condition, and moisturize your skin, it is kinda a multitasking anti-acne, soothing and moisturizing sleeping cream.

Review: Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Serum, Green Tea Balancing Skin, and The Green Tea Seed Cream (2017)

Innisfree was one of the first Korean brands that I used. Among which, its green tea line is one of my old-time favourites. After trying out many Korean beauty products, I want to go back to Innisfree green tea again, to see if I still feel the same after all these years living without them.

For those of you who don't know, Innisfree Green Line is one of the earliest product lines in Innisfree. Many girls start off using Innisfree products. It is suitable for those in their early 20s, with minimal to no skin issues. The packaging of Innisfree Green Tea reflects the eco-friendliness concept of Innisfree's brand philosophy. You'll notice that the labels on the packaging will fade after some time because it is made of soy ink. I am not sure what is the materials of the packaging but it looks like plastic for me. Innisfree also promotes recycling of bottles so you can return your used Innisfree containers in exchange for RM 1 each, up to 3 bottles per month.

The one I have today is their staplers, namely Green Tea Seed Serum, Green Tea Balancing Toner and Green Tea Seed Cream. All of these have come out with jumbo sizes before, so you can tell that they have made quite a reputation in the beauty industry.

Review: The History of Whoo Cheongidan Hwa Hyun Essence and Jinyulyang Jinyul Eye Cream

This is not a conventional review because the products I got here are just miniatures. But considering the cost of getting real products from The History of Whoo, I think some of you may understand why I only go for the miniatures. It is VERY EXPENSIVE.

The History of Whoo is a luxury cosmetic brand in Korea. The brand owner LG Group is commissioned by the Korean government to create a national luxury skincare brand that fully embodies Korean traditions. The brand was subsequently launched in 2003. It contains all the luxury herbs imaginable in its products, some I can't name. The term "whoo" resembles the empresses of the East-Asian royal courts, which in other words, symbolizing that this is a cosmetic brands use only by the empresses.

I want to talk about two products I got here: The History of Whoo Cheongidan Hwa Hyun Essence 8ml (NP: RM 1,130 / 50ml) and The History of Whoo Jinyulhyang Jinyul Eye Cream 4ml (NP: RM 560 / 20ml). A simple math will tell that these miniatures cost RM 623.76, can you imagine that?????

Beauty Haul Review: Things I bought at Laneige Beauty Roadshow at Mid Valley May 2017!

Actually I didn't planned to attend this beauty roadshow because I know I'm gonna spend, and I have no more money left after Kurator haul and such. But, it just so happens that my besty asked me out for a dinner at Sushi Zanmai Mid Valley some time in Saturday that we both were drawn to this mega road show. And we both ended up buying something!

I didn't take any photo of the event. You can find tonnes of them online, and on Laneige's official website. Today's review is gonna be about what I bought and why the hell I spent again. And of course, my regret, regret and regret.

Sunscreen 401: My Top 10 Holy Grail Sunscreens / SPF / Suncare Products

Many people asked me to share my favourite sunscreen products, after I posted a mega post on sunscreen tips, sun care knowledge, and reviews on multiple sunscreen products. So in this review, I will post about several sunscreens I used and liked in the past few years that will keep repurchasing. For those of you who don't know, I have normal to dry skin, and I have a general preference for lightweight, fast-absorbing and non-sticky sunscreens, so my opinion might be "biased" towards this direction. There are several products that I think would be more suitable for oily skin, which I have mentioned in my previous sunscreen reviews so you can check that one out if you are interested in reading further. Read on below to find out more about my top 10 sunscreen favourites.

  • Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50+ PA++++ (2017 Version)
  • Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF50+ PA+++
  • Hada Labo Perfect UV Gel SPF50+ PA++++

  • Neogen Day-Light Protection Sun Screen SPF 50 PA+++

Comparison Review: Primera Free & Free vs. Free & Free Soft Foam

I wonder does all of you use feminine wash, and if so, which brands do you use? I read somewhere that you are not supposed to use a feminine wash because your private area has self-cleansing properties. Using any of those would disrupt the pH balance of this area and causes further complications. However, your private areas might become sensitive and is infected whenever your body's immune system goes down, particularly due to hectic lifestyle, stress or poor diet. And that's when you need a feminine wash.

I talked about feminine wash from the brand Hanyul in my previous review, which I don't like. Today, I am gonna touch on two feminine wash from the brand Primera which I really enjoy. I also used the more affordable local brand Lactacyd but I find Primera one works better.

There are two Primera feminine wash that I've tried, so this is gonna be a comparison review and a detailed review of each of them respectively.

Review: Manyo Factory Ultra Moist Ampoule

Korean has many emerging brands that are catching our eyes recently. That's a good thing actually because you can still get something different from the two big cosmetic heads Amore Pacific and LG dominate the industry. This Manyo Factory is one of these new Korean brands that are coming under the kbeauty-lovers' attention. Its most popular product is its Niacin which is consisted of fermented yeast extract and 2% niacinamide. I could not get hold of the Niacin so I opted for this Ultra Moist Rebirth Ampoule instead. I wanted something moisturizing so I thought of giving this a try.

Review: Dear by Enprani Bounce Cheese Cream

Have you tried Idiyappam? If so, then you must be familiar with seeing things get pulled into long, long stings. That doesn't just happen to food, but also to cosmetics as well. This Dear by Enprani Bounce Cheese Cream, which is made of 10% whey protein is a unique cream in my opinion. Not only is it super moisturizing, it also has this interesting texture that can be pulled into long stings. Say cheese~

Comparison Review of Soothing Gel: Nature Republic Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel, The Face Shop Damyang Bamboo 99% Fresh Soothing Gel, Mamonde Rose Water Multi Soothing Gel, and Tony Moly Cucumber Water Gel

We ought to thank Nature Republic for bringing us the very affordable and multitasking soothing gel. I think if not for Nature Republic and its famous aloe vera gel, we won't have a "soothing gel" revolution across the beauty industry. A lot of brands are coming out with their own versions of soothing gel, with different ingredients of course. For instance, snail gel by Tony Moly, lotus and milk gels by The Face Shop, bamboo gel by Innisfree, aloe vera gel by Holika Holika, and so on. A lot of unimaginable ingredients are now in the form of gel, such as milk, snail and many more, so you know how popular soothing gel is.

But if you ask me, what's so special about soothing gel? I will say that it's a very reasonably priced all-you-can-use product. You can use it on almost every part of your body - hair, nail, face, body for additional soothing, calming, cooling and moisturizing benefits. It will also suit all skin types including acne-prone, oily and dry skin. I normally use it as a body moisturizer, sometimes also as a cooling gel on different parts of my body. I don't use it on my face because I have many other facial creams that are better and faster absorbing. And I don't feel so comfortable applying fragrance-laden gel that doesn't really do much to benefit my skin except for cooling it down. But for my body, these will be perfectly affordable little ones to calm and hydrate my skin.

Let's look at 4 soothing gel I have tried, I will begin with the most reputable Nature Republic Aloe Vera soothing gel:

Review: Neogen Real Fresh Foam Cleanser Cereal

This Neogen foam cleanser is quite popular in US and Asia, especially among the Korean beauty community thanks to the kbeauty curator Soko Glam. There are four flavours in total, namely blueberry, cranberry, cereal and green tea. Green tea is the best, or most sought-after one out of all four, and is also the most reviewed. So when I thought about giving this foam cleanser a try, I opt for the cereal one instead of green tea. I love cereal of course, but I think you don't need another review on green tea so why don't I just take the less-taken road?

Review: Hanyul Pure Artemisia Feminine Care Gel and Pure Artemisia Cleansing Foam

There isn't much you can talk about feminine wash. Not every woman is using it, or find it necessary. I am brought under this awareness that feminine cleanser is not really necessary, or is formulated similar to cleanser. In today's review, I want to compare two Artemisia products from Hanyul, one of it is its feminine wash and the other one normal cleanser. I want to see whether or not there is a distinctive difference between the two, and whether or not this feminine wash has vastly improved the hygiene of my bikini area.
