Believe in Truth: 60 Belif Products Review Part 5: Mask

Belif produces a lot of mask, ranging from sheet mask, deep-cleansing mask, wash-off mask, eye mask to overnight mask. So you are pampered with choices and luxuries here. Belif masks are also reasonably priced. They are not that expensive considering their quantity and functions. Most masks we have are around RM 90 to RM 150, with an average of RM 100-120, so I think if you are clueless about where to start from for Belif, you can probably start from a mask! Today, I'm gonna talk about 10 different masks I have tried from Belif. Most of these are my own purchases, some belong to my mom. For those that I haven't tried, I do make sure that I try at least 2 of their samples (5ml x 2 / 50ml = 20%) before sharing my thoughts with you guys. I will try to be as unbiased as possible in pointing out what I like and what I don't for each Belif masks.

Belif First Aid - Transforming Peel-Off Mask 50ml
(KRW 23,000 / RM 99)

This is a gentle exfoliating peeling wash-off mask made of lemon balm and white willow bark, both of which are natural AHAs.

It has a light creamy texture that will dry up like most clay mask when you smooth it over your skin. The unique thing about this mask is that, you only need water to remove it as the mask dissolves naturally upon contacting with water without the harsh pulling or rubbing process. Perfect for sensitive to dry skin. I think this is even gentler than Primera Mild Peeling Gel but I use the latter more often because Belif one requires longer wait time and more hassle.

As for its performance, honestly, I don't notice much of a difference after using this. My skin is definitely clearer and brighter, but my whiteheads are not drastically reduced like after using AHA treatments. My blackheads of course remain intact.

Another thing I don't like about this mask is how much products you need each time. You need at least 3-4 times the amount you need from other Belif masks. And this costs an undiscriminating RM 99 for only 50g, so you might be better off investing on Cosrx AHA Whitehead Power Liquid or any other AHA or PHA products than this.

Unless of course if you have extremely sensitive skin and want a really natural exfoliating mask, I don't see why you should get this because it is seriously not a very "considerate" product but is unique enough for certain skin type (i.e. very sensitive skin that wants to use AHA treatment).

I won't repurchase after this. Ideal for sensitive and drier skin looking for a gentle exfoliating experience.

Belif First Aid - Overnight Skin Regeneration Mask 50ml
(KRW 25,000 / RM 109)

This is a nourishing and skin rejuvenating sleeping mask with a unique natto-like consistency. It is a great overnight pack for dull, tired, saggy and dry skin.

This is my favourite sleeping mask in 2015. The texture may look heavy but it is actually quite lightweight. It blends out smoothly on your skin and sink in within minutes of soft patting. The texture is very well-made and unique which I have never seen in any other products. My skin wakes up the next day baby soft as if it is pumped with water overnight.

Both my mom and I are using this. She has dehydrated-combination skin whereas mine is normal. She enjoys using this mask but still prefers the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask over this. I guess this is too heavy for her combination skin although this doesn’t irritate or break her out given her generous usage.

As for me, I enjoy the “polished” skin look whenever I use this. It gives the “gwang” that everyone practicing Korean beauty routine wants for theirs. It also firms up my skin lightly especially around my apple cheeks area. However, I did not notice any improvements in my hyperpigmentation despite its licorice root extract, only some elasticity-improving benefits.

Ideal for normal to dry skin, especially mature or dull skin. Acne-prone skin might find this too nourishing. Check this out my full review and ingredients analysis here.

Belif First Aid - Overnight Anti-Wrinkle & Firming Mask 50ml
(KRW 25,000 / RM 109)

This is an anti-wrinkle and firming sleeping mask with a bouncy and chewy texture. If you have tried the famous Elizavecca Pig Collagen, this sleeping mask really feels like a collagen cream.

Formulated with yarrow extract, this anti-wrinkle and firming mask is said to redefine facial contours and skin texture, giving the skin a healthier and more resilient-looking complexion. My mom was using this before she fell for Laneige Water Sleeping Mask since she got saggy and inelastic skin issues. However, she was not that impressed. She finds that this doesn't really do a great job firming and lifting her skin. It does make her skin appears smoother and softer with its emollient but doesn't really improve her skin texture after she finished the entire jar. As such, she will not repurchase. In term of wrinkles repairing, she still prefers the Peat Miracle Revital Serum Concentrate.

Ideal for mature skin with elasticity, moisture loss and sagging issues. Also suitable as a wash-off mask for younger skin who wants some anti-aging remedy.

Belif First Aid - Overnight Brightening Mask 50ml
(KRW 21,000 / RM 90)

This is a brightening emollient-sleeping mask made of black truffle, amber, pearl and gold powder capsules to brighten up and nourish the skin overnight. Alternatively, this will work well as a night cream after your serum as well.

This sleeping mask has an oily-creamy consistency. Oilier skin may not appreciate the creamy consistency of this mask but dry or flaky skin will find it helpful. Normal skin like me can still tolerate the oil inside this cream but this is not something I would enjoy applying frequently. If I were to need a brightening sleeping mask from Belif, then I think the Overnight Regeneration Mask has done a pretty decent job at toning up my skin without the oily-creaminess.

Ideal for drier skin type who enjoys emollient sleeping mask with brightening property.

Belif First Aid - Deep Pore Care Mask 50g
(KRW 23,000/ RM 99)

This is a wash-off type clay mask made of natural French green clay and raspberry leaf extract. It will penetrate deep into the pores to cleanse and minimize the appearance of pores to reveal a clearer-looking complexion.

Both my mom and I are using this Deep Pore Care Mask. My mom uses it as a weekly treatment since she has combination skin with blackhead issue. As for me, I only use it 2-3 times a month because I have a bunch of other clay mask and chemical exfoliants. My mom has a so-so feedback on this clay mask. She does feel that this has removed all the sebum and impurities within her pores but the effects are not long-lasting. She still has to rely on the Tincture of Chamomile to improve blood circulation to her skin whereby reducing her blackhead issue. As such, she will not repurchase after she is finished with this product.

As for me, I have compared this to many other clay masks I have tried. This shares a lot of similarities with Kiehl's clay mask but the Belif one feels more creamy and moisturizing compared to Kiehl's. This is definitely better than Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask. But if you were to compare it to Belif Peat Miracle Revital Mask, I think that the peat miracle revital mask is much more deep-cleansing and effective than this.

Ideal for normal to drier skin with pores concern. Oilier or those with serious pores issue should look for the Belif Peat Miracle Revital Mask.

Belif Peat Miracle Revital Mask 50g
(KRW 35,000 / RM 150)

This is the more potent and concentrated version of the Deep Pore Care Mask. It is made of peat from the peat land instilled with numerous herbs that have undergone 5,000 years of natural fermenting process.

This is like the powerhouse version of a clay mask. In addition to clearing sebum and impurities within the pores, this also rejuvenates, revitalizes and tighten loosened pores. It offers skincare benefits while deep-cleansing with peat extract and rhodiola root extract.

I like this better than the Deep Pore Clay Mask because this has a better done purifying my pores and improving my skin complexion. It leaves my skin a little tight after rinsing but the tightness is not unpleasant or "too-much", more like a squeaky clean skin feel. The mask also doesn't feel drying at all while I leave it on my skin. It feels like a moist clay paste if you get what I mean.

Ideal for all skin types especially those with oilier skin and clogged pores.

Belif First Aid – Anti-Hangover Soothing Mask 50ml
(KRW 21,000 / RM 90)

This is a soothing mask in the form of gel that you can use as a wash-off or overnight mask depending on your skin’s needs and preferences. It is made of chamomile extract and xylitol that can soothe and relieve your skin of troubles.

I don’t own this one in particular, only buying it for my aunt who has extremely sensitive skin. She uses it at night as a soothing gel and then washes it off the next morning. She finds that her skin is much calmer and less inflamed after using it. So she has been repurchasing ever since that. As for me, I also enjoy the soothing sensation of this mask but I don’t really use it that often to buy the full size product but I will if I need it in the future.

Ideal for sensitive skin or those who often stay up late or practice a stressful lifestyle.

Belif First Aid - Aqua Rush Mask 50ml
(KRW 21,000 / RM 90)

This is a moisturizing and mild exfoliating wash-off mask made with lotus root extract. It even has a texture that looks like finely grained lotus. You use this after a toner and rinse off 10-20 minutes later.

I was reluctant to commit into a full size bottle since several samples I tried were less than impressive. They basically just stay on my skin like semi-wet DIY crushed potatoes flesh that I did not appreciate. Even during unhealthy skin day, I don't find it particularly hydrating or moisturizing. Besides, a pack of this (5ml) only lasts me for about 1-1.5 uses, which makes a 50ml product only good for 10-15 uses. Given the performance,  I think it is more practical for me to stay with the Overnight Revitalizing Mask or even the Chamomile Soothing Mask.

Not something I would recommend, but I know some people really like this. My Belif Consultant with really sensitive skin told me that this and the Anti-Hangover Soothing Mask had helped greatly in calming down redness and sensitivity on her skin, which was related to her work stress and hectic lifestyle.

Ideal for normal skin that wants a moisturizing and soothing wash-off mask.

Belif First Aid-360 Eye Care Mask 25ml
(KRW 27,000 / RM 115)

This is a sleeping mask for the eyes, the only mask I know that is designed specifically for the eyes area.

This eye mask is made of mimosa pudica to soothe, moisturize, revitalize and firm up eyes tired of makeup and dryness. It has a soft and bouncy texture that blends out in your eyes smoothly like watery cream without leaving any tackiness or residues despite its pudding-like consistency. I bought this after starting to notice little lines popping out under my eyes but soon realize that this is not powerful enough as a standalone eye cream. My mom shares the same thought as well so she will not repurchase after she has finished hers.

I think, if you are younger and like to makeup a lot then you can just use this instead of an eye cream. But for me, someone in her late 20s, this is definitely not sufficient. It does moisturize, firm and soothe the dryness around my eyes but not hydrating and rejuvenating enough to prevent the appearance of fine lines. For that reason, I add in the Moisturizing and Firming Eye Cream. If you are approaching your 40s or above that, then you should opt for the Peat Miracle Revital Eye Cream.

Ideal for younger skin, individuals who like to makeup a lot or those who want something lightweighted but moisturizing to protect the eyes through the night. Not sufficient as a standalone eye cream. Check out my full review and ingredients analysis here!

Belif The True Tincture Mask - Chamomile 50ml
(KRW 28,000 / RM 120)

This is a wash-off mask enriched with chamomile flower petals and nutritive 10.7% chamomile extract-containing gel cream. It is great as an instant soothing and skin healing pack for dull, tired and sensitive skin. It is also a mild exfoliating and massage pack with the soft flower petals inside. You are meant to use this 1-2 times a week and rinse it off after 10-15 minutes. Alternatively, you can also tissue off the remaining flower petals and sleep with it on if you don’t have acne-prone skin.

This is one of my mom’s favourite sleeping masks but not her holy grail. She reported brighter, hydrated and soother-looking skin after putting this on. More like a 15 minutes genki-pumping charger. For that reason, she only uses this before important events and dinners.

As for me, I certainly think that this mask has awesome texture with really relaxing and purifying scent but wash-off mask is really not my thing so this is not in my repurchase list either. I do use physical exfoliator but don’t quite appreciate the wait time of this. So even although this product is great, it is not something I find convenient for my lifestyle.

Ideal for dull, sensitive, tired-looking and dry skin. Check here out for my detailed review and ingredients analysis.
