Review: Blossom Jeju Pink Camellia Soombi Blooming Flower Eye Cream

I happened to drop by Kurator's first physical store at Isetan KLCC when I was looking for an eye cream. I finished my Belif Moisturizing and Firming Eye Cream and was looking for an alternative. And that's how I bumped into this Blossom Jeju Pink Camellia Soombi Blooming Flower Eye Cream. This was not my first time hearing about Blossom Jeju, since Glow Recipe talked and raved about it many times in their videos. But this was the first step I swatched the product on my hands and oh my it captured my heart immediately, just in that one swatch.

Blossom Jeju Pink Camellia Soombi Blooming Flower Eye Cream is a lightweight gel cream type eye cream that will melt the moment you apply it. It has a super enticing and lovely jasmine scent that will raise your mood when you have it on. Since it is super lightweight, it works best for those with normal to oily skin. This will hydrate those with oilier eye zone well without causing milia or irritation.

The eye cream is packed in a beautiful pinkish jar. There is 30ml of product inside. A jar is retailed for about RM 228 at Kurator and $58 on Glow Recipe. The product has a short shelf life of one year or so from its manufacturing date so do remember to use it as soon as you

INGREDIENTS

Camellia Japonica Flower Extract(62.40%), Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol (EcoCert®, Natural Origin), Sorbitan Olivate, Cetearyl Olivate, Butyrospermum Parkii (shea) Butter, Niacinamide, Ethylhexyl Olivate, Propanediol(EcoCert®, Natural Origin), Camellia Japonica Seed Oil(0.79%), Akebia Quinata Extract, Panthenol, Caprylyl Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Palmitate, Sorbitan Palmitate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Betaine, Centella Asiatica Extract, Trehalose, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Tocopherol, Adenosine, Opuntia Ficus-Indica fruit Extract, Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate, Sorbitan Caprylate, Arginine, Carnitine, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Dimethyl Sulfone, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Hizikia Fusiforme Extract, Orbignya Oleifera Seed Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Bioflavonoids, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract, Yeast Beta-Glucan, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Leaf Extract, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Pueraria Lobata Root Extract, Levulinic Acid, Copper Tripeptide-1, Carnosine, Hydroxyproline, Fragrance

INGREDIENTS ANALYSIS
This eye cream contains a powerful punch of botanical extracts rich in nutrients and moisture. Many things like shea butter, olive oil, coconut oil, panthenol, beta glucan and so on are known for their abilities to nourish and moisture the skin. Not to mention the 62.40% of camellia extract and 0.79% camellia oil that are used by Geisha in Japan to moisturize and intensely hydrate the skin. Altogether they make up a super nutrient punch for the most deserted area around your eyes. And I am pretty happy to see niacinamide in here, a very good ingredient known for its elasticity-improving and melanin inhibiting properties.

PERFORMANCE

It is hard for me to judge the performance of an eye cream. It does nourish and hydrate my eye area really well without any stickiness or discomfort. However, it doesn't do any practical in term of fine lines and elasticity improving, nor can it reduce the appearance of dark circles. I also noticed one tiny fine lines start growing under my right eyes recently, which means it kinda fail to provide substantial benefits for my under eyes area. One thing I like about it, however, is that it doesn't cause milia or anything around my eyes area, which I like about as milia takes forever to go away.

I think this would work great for those with dehydrated and oilier skin though, because it has such a heavy punch of moisture without the associated heaviness. The consistency is super light for something with so many nourishing ingredients.

CONCLUSION

I am about 40% down the bottle having used it for more than 3 months now. I think the eye cream is a joy to use. It is super lightweight and hydrating without being greasy or overwhelming. The scent is really relaxing and mood-lifting. Everything about it is great except for the actual performance. This stuff, despite the quality of the ingredients use, does not do much for my eye area. My other eye creams don't do much either, but this one with its lightweight consistency works pretty minimally to offer any intense nourishment or hydration that my normal-to-dry eye area, if compared to the other ones.

As such, I think I will not repurchase after I finish using it. I really love Blossom Jeju and its Pink Camellia line but I have many options in the line that I can grab, not just this eye cream. I am eyeing Su:m37, SK-II, and A.H.C eye creams once I've finished the Blossom Jeju one. I shall keep you guys posted for more updates!

See you in my next post!

Pros:
- beautiful packaging
- enticing and pleasant scent
- lightweight yet intensely hydrating texture
- carries a heavy punch of antioxidants, moisture and nutrients with its botanical blend

Cons:
- doesn't do much for the area around the eyes
- expensive

Since 1851: 26 Kiehl's Product Review Part 2

I talked about my first encounter with Kiehl's in my part 1 review.

In this part 2 review, I'm gonna share my overall impression on the brand as a whole, and my final thoughts using 26 of their products (some are samples) after 1.5 years now.

If you are new to Kiehl's, it is basically a pharmacy-turned-cosmetic brand. They started off selling fragrance, inventing skincare for men, and slowly evolved to producing pharmaceutical skincare the "Dermatologist Solutions". You can find out more about the history of Kiehl's here. The brand pledges to use only naturally-derived ingredients to maintain skin health. It only provides a money back guarantee 30 days from purchasing if you are not satisfied with their products. In addition, they also do their corporate social responsibility by engaging in a lot of charity works and recycling campaigns. It seems that they are more into building their own heritage than just commercialization.

I started using Kiehl's products back in January 2016, where I purchased the Clearly Corrective Clarity Activation Toner and claimed several samples of its Dark Spot Solution. I did notice an encouraging reduction in my freckles. I ventured into the masque, cream, and subsequently essence several months later. Kiehl's gave me a lot of samples since I spent over RM 3K on the store. Not just for myself, but for my family and friends. That's how I managed to try out so many of their products.

Out of all those things I tried, only a few made an impression on me. Its clearly corrective line is awesome. Then its men's oil eliminator line as well as the blue-bottle Oil-Free Gel Cream are all great too. I also love the Iris Essence although that one wasn't as impressive as other first essences I've tried. I also love their calendula and mightnight recovery line too.

I think most Kiehl's products are not considered cheap. Among which, its eye creams are definitely overpriced. A small 15ml costs around RM 150-250, which is really pricey given the volume of product you get. Its serum is expensive too I would say. So far I think the only thing I would repurchase would be the Dark Spot Solution, Iris Essence and Calendula Toner.

Now lets' talk about the remaining Kiehl's products I've experienced:
  • Kiehl's Clearly Corrective™ Dark Spot Solution
  • Kiehl's Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate
  • Kiehl's Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate
  • Kiehl's Precision Lifting & Pore-Tightening Concentrate
  • Kiehl's Centella Recovery Skin Salve
  • Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel-Cream
  • Kiehl's Men's Oil Eliminator 24 Hour Anti-Shine Moisturizer
  • Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Cream
  • Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque
  • Kiehl’s Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Purifying Masque
  • Kiehl's Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque
  • Kiehl's Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque
  • Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 PA++++

Since 1851: 24 Kiehl's Product Review Part 1

Kiehl's has the reputation of being one of the longest-establishing cosmetic brands to-date. A lot of Taiwan personality and Western celebrities swear by their products, which include beauty guru Nu Er and actress Barbie Hsu. I have always wanted to try one of Kiehl's products but is always hesitated due to its higher price tag. I guess Malaysian consumers have relatively weaker purchasing power if compared to other countries so imported goods especially those from developed countries like US or UK can be quite pricey.

My first Kiehl's encounter actually comes quite unexpected. I just happened to pass by Midvalley outlet one day and thought of stepping inside to experience some of Kiehl's products. I met a really nice consultant Kiki who gave me very useful skincare tips and also loads of Kiehl's samples. I think this good service is uniquely Midvalley. I also went to other outlets but some staffs at other Kiehl's outlet was kinda rude to me so I will always go back to Midvalley whenever I need any skincare advise or samples.

If you follow my Instagram, you'll notice that I share a lot of my Kiehl's encounters. I talked about how I sent some of Kiehl's samples to my aunt via mailing service. I also brought my mom and my bf into the brand. My mom was a loyal user of Belif products, but she did purchase some Kiehl's products out of curiosity. My bf is more committed, having purchased a full set of skincare from the brand after trying out the samples and finding them really effective. As for me, my target has always been the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, which I have reviewed about previously. Of course I also tried out other Kiehl's products since I am a skincare junkee, which I will review soon.

Read on to find out more about 24 Kiehl's products we have tried!

Budget-Friendly Skincare Review: Best Affordable Skincare For Students

I am writing this special review to put all my skincare items on a fair play ground. Sometimes it is "unfair" to expect a product that costs only a little to deliver a tonne. And it is also "fair" to expect something expensive to give great results. So when I do yearly "beauty awards", I am always stuck between "expensive-but-fantastic products" and "really-cheap-but-very-great" products. So I want to write this special review to share with you guys some of the awesome products that you can find at cheap cheap prices. This will also be helpful of some of the budget-conscious students and working adults who want to enjoy a beauty complexion without breaking their banks! I hope you find this helpful and let's begin with our review!

Review: Blossom Jeju White Camellia Soombi 2 Step Vitamin+ Brightening Essence Petal Mask

I received the Blossom Jeju White Camellia Soombi Mask from my first Kurator haul. I was one of the first 50 (I think) to shop from them hence is entitled to a piece of free mask. The mask itself is actually quite pricey at around RM 20 each since a box retails for RM 99 at Kurator. If I am not mistaken, Kurator is the sole distributor of Blossom Jeju in Malaysia and you can hardly find them elsewhere in the country, not even online. Another portal where you can find Blossom Jeju would be Glow Recipe but shipping would be a big issue if you buy from Glow so I always get my Blossom Jeju goodies from Kurator.

The White Camellia Soombi Mask comes in 2 steps:

  • Step 1 - 100% pure camellia oil
  • Step 2 - sheet mask

The mask looks really pretty like a flower petal. Blossom Jeju has short shelf life so their products expire within a year or so from manufacturing so do make sure to use yours as soon as you receive it!

Review: Goodal Waterest Lasting Water Oil

Hi guys I am back again with another skincare review! This time it is the Goodal Waterest Lasting Water Oil I got from Gmarket last year. I am a shopaholic who tends to shop faster than I finish things up. So I often accumulate a lot of stash in my wardrobe whenever there is big sales going on. Gmarket was running this $5 shipping discount in April 2016 and I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a lot from them. I accumulated so much stash that I only get to use this Goodal Oil some time in May this year. Anyway, enough with the intro, let's go straight to the product.

Review: Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner

I own many toners, but none of them really provide a nice cushiony effect that is gentle and moisturizing at the same time. It is not until I met this Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner that changes my mind on toners. My previous toners are mostly either very refreshing like Kose or Dear by Enprani or nourishing like Whamisa. The closest to this would be Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion that is a bit sticky. If I were to compare, Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner feels like the light version of Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion. It is very gentle and moisturizing but not sticky at all. It provides a nice slip that can moisturize, balance and prep your skin for next skincare step without being tacky or overwhelming.

Let's take a look at this highly-raved product among the beauty community recently!

Expecting Tomorrow: 17 Cosrx Products Review

(updated on October 2017; first published on 27 February 2017)

I am a packaging person when it comes to skincare. Often time I buy a product because it looks too cute to be resisted. And this sometimes ends in disappointment. It is not until I met Cosrx that I think skincare products can be non-cute and non-fancy but effective. And that's not a bad thing actually because when a brand spends less on fancy packaging it will eventually reflect back on the price.

Cosrx is a brand that I will recommend others to use when they want something that are working yet non-expensive. They are a lot cheaper than normal Korean brands out there, sometimes as cheap as 1/2 the price you normally pay for normal Korean skincare items. They are cheaper than many Innisfree counterparts, without compromising on the quality.

Just like The Ordinary and Pyunkang Yul, Cosrx is not a brand that is a love at first sight for me. I fancy fancier products like Belif, Innisfree, Laneige and what not so Cosrx seems too ordinary to be noticed. It is not until many of my Instagram friends start sharing it that I finally pay more attention to the brand.

My first Cosrx if I am not mistaken is the BHA and AHA. Then slowly I collect all their collection one-by-one. I got most of my Cosrx products from Sweet Corea and Koreadepart. Hermo hasn't started to carry them when I was really into the brand. But now, a lot of places carry Cosrx, even Watson's and Wako Beauty.

What is Cosrx about?

If you are new to Cosrx, it is a Korean cosmetic brand that focuses on using the minimum amount of quality ingredients to achieve maximum skincare goal. They have many lines for different skin types, but their most popular ones are those for anti-acne, skin repairing, and exfoliating purposes.

Cosrx starts off small so they have friendly customer service team to answer all your questions. All you have to do is to send them email or ask them on their official Instagram page. They will always try their best to give you the best feedback. But even if you don't, you can get most of your answers from the bloggers, youtubers and Instagrammers who share about those products anyway.

That's all for the Cosrx brand overview, lets head right to 17 Cosrx products I have personally tested and loved/loathed:

  • Cosrx Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser
  • Cosrx AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner
  • Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid
  • Cosrx AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid
  • Cosrx Natural BHA Skin Returning A-Sol
  • Cosrx Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence
  • Cosrx Mela14 White Ample
  • Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence
  • Cosrx Ultra Moisturizing Lotion with Birch Sap
  • Cosrx Centella Blemish Cream
  • Cosrx Advanced Snail 92 All In One Cream
  • Cosrx Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask
  • Cosrx Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask
  • Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch
  • Cosrx One Step Pimple Clear Pads
  • Cosrx One Step Moisture Up Pad

My Updated Morning Skincare Routine (Oct 2017 Version)

Morning is the time when you have to get started as soon as you wake up from the bed. For night owl like myself, waking up itself is a painful thing in the morning. Often time I don't have time to get dressed or put on layers of products. I just have to rush off the door quick while at the same time looking fully awaken.

So morning routine is very important for me. Products I choose are those that won't waste my time in front of the dressing table slowly waiting for them to absorb. They are also lighter in consistency and focuses more on hydration.

Let's move over to the products I used for my morning routine one by one:-

  • Celeb Face Sparkling Cleanser
  • Whamisa Organic Flowers Original Toner
  • Hada Labo Kiwamizu Lotion Mist
  • Laneige Fresh Calming Morning Mask
  • Belif The True Cream - Water Bomb
  • Make P:rem UV Defense Me Blue Ray Sun Gel SPF50+ PA++++

Review: Papa Recipe Bombee Whitening Honey Mask Pack

Papa Recipe was one of the masks that you wouldn't pay much attention of if you go to Korea. It looks like one of those Taiwanese masks with cute packaging and lovely titles though. And frankly speaking, except for TT masks, most Taiwanese masks fail to impress me. They are not bad, but they are just too ordinary to be impressive. I thought the Papa Recipe mask was also a Taiwanese masks until Meejmuse talked about it in her video. Naturally, intrigued, I bought one to try it out myself. I got mine from Hermo several months ago at around RM 7-8. There are many fake ones out there so I am quite careful when buying the Papa Recipe masks.

Anyhow, let's read on to find out more about what I think about the masks!

Well... this happened last month so it is kinda late for me to post it now. But let's just treat it as a beauty journal or shopping diary and see how this much-awaited Hermo Warehouse Sales looks like.

Hermo had a warehouse sales on September 23-24 in PJ. This was their second warehouse sales. First one took place in JB where Hermo based. They said they did this under popular request. Well I get it. This is Hermo's first warehouse sales and people are expecting great deals. Let's take a tour below.

A Comparison Review of 21 Facial Puffs, Facial Cottons, Cotton Puffs and Swabs Part 2

I have talked about the properties, differences and uses of different types of facial cotton in my part 1 review.

Basically we have 6 major categories of facial cottons that are commonly found in the market. There might be more but I just categorize them into 6:-
  • Cotton swab
  • Square cotton / Round cotton / Pocket cotton
  • Sponge cotton
  • Embossed Cotton
  • Multilayered cotton
  • Water jet cotton

Their respective functions and characteristics were discussed in the part 1 review.

In this part 2 review, we are gonna continue our more "detailed" reviews on facial cottons / puffs / swabs from different brands I have tried in the past 2-3 years.

Full list of products discussed are as below:
  • MUJI Makeup Facial Soft Cut Cotton Unbleached 9 x 7cm 180s ★★☆
  • MUJI Peelable Cotton Pads 60s 8.5 x 6cm ★★★☆

A Comparison Review of 21 Facial Puffs, Facial Cottons / Puffs / Swabs Part 1

Facial cotton or cotton pad is arguably one of the most important cosmetic tools. It is widely used in many places and for multiple purposes. You can use facial cotton to remove your makeup, tone and even exfoliate your skin! Alternatively, you can also use it as a quick 3-5 minutes lotion mask to keep your skin soft and plump.

I used cotton pad in many ways, from cleansing, toning, to masking. I know some people think that they are a waste of money and product but I personally would argue otherwise! I think the key of using facial cotton is to make sure that you know which products to use them with, and how. Using only one type of cotton pad for everything head to toes is the reason that you think you are wasting your product, so do use them more wisely!

There are many types of facial cotton, and they each serve different beauty purposes:

  • Cotton swab
  • Square cotton / Round cotton / Pocket cotton
  • Sponge cotton
  • Embossed Cotton
  • Multilayered cotton
  • Water jet cotton

In this review, I’m gonna explain the materials use, properties, and functions of each facial cotton and review some of those I have tried in the past few years. A list of the products reviewed in this post is as below:-

  • 2358! Makeup Cotton 1000s ★★
  • Etude House My Beauty Tool Embossed Cotton Puff 150s ★★★☆
  • Etude House My Beauty Tool Paper Stick Cotton Swabs ★★★☆
  • Hera Cell Essence Facial Care Cotton 60s ★★★★☆
  • Innisfree A-Z Tool Kit ★★★☆
  • Innisfree Eco Beauty Tool Premium Cotton Pads 2.0 80s ☆
  • IOPE Bio-Essence Intensive Conditioning Facial Care Cotton 60s ☆
  • Laneige Facial Care Dual Cotton 60s ★★★
  • Lirikos Triple Treatment Facial Cotton 60s ★★★☆
  • Missha Cotton Swabs 100pcs ★★★☆
  • Missha Soft 5 Layers Cotton Sheet 80s ★★★★

Review: Laneige Fresh Calming Morning Mask and Toner

I am quite excited when Laneige launched the Fresh Calming line! It is actually a new skincare line designed for combination to oily skin as well as younger skin. We have many products focusing on moisturizing in Laneige but rarely do we come across those that targets young adults. These Fresh Calming orange babes are meant for those in their 20-25 with combination and dehydrated skin!

From the line, I picked the Morning Mask and Toner. I am interested to try out the Gel Cleanser too but... you know... I have a lot of products to go and I don't want to keep too much one a cleanser as well.

Let's take a look at the both of our Fresh Calming babes:-

Review: SNP Diamond Brightening Ampoule Mask

Actually this is not a new thing anymore. SNP came out with their ampoule masks long time ago and expanded to include a new MaYu line about a year ago. I was really interested to try out SNP ampoule masks but the Bird's Nest one I tried in the past were kinda meh. It was too sticky for my liking. It is not until recently that I picked up one of these SNP ampoule masks again. Let's read on to find out what I think about this SNP Diamond Brightening Ampoule Mask!

Review: L'Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Sensi Balance Shampoo

I am quite a product junkee. I like to jump from one product to another. And that includes body care products. Recently I found my holy grail shampo, the Innisfree Zero Shampoo which I managed to stick to for a good two bottles, but even that couldn't satisfy my very picky scalp. My scalp agrees that it has had enough of the Innisfree Shampo and wants something new. That's how I found the L'Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Sensi Balance Shampoo.

This shampoo was recommended by my sisther's doctor. She has the same scalp problem as me and her doctor advises her to get something mild for her scalp. Luckily, it is not some magic potion that she has to order from distant countries. You can find L'Oreal products in many places including Shins in Malaysia.

I got the 500ml bottle for RM 69. I have been using it consistently everyday for the past 5 months and have about 10% left in the bottle. I think the product can last longer if you have shorter hair.

Let's find out what I think about the product below!

Review: Face Masks I used in August and September 2017 - Mamonde, Innisfree, Ariul, L'herboflore, Jayjun, Dr. Jart+, A.H.C

I think my passion towards sheet mask rises everytime when I am in the "buying mood". I used up several Jayjun masks I stocked up during my previous Koreadepart hauls before Hermo Warehouse Sales. And there it is... Hermo is selling them during the Warehouse Sales and I managed to pick and choose those that appeals to me the most! You might also notice that there are some Mamonde and Innisfree masks here and there, which are those that near its expiry. I had been super slacking off on sheet masking so these are my stash that I am rushing to finish before they went expired.

I think I will still keep my bimonthly mask episodes but I will review sheet mask individually from now on and then compile them every 1~2 months for your reading convenience. I want to make sure my readers get a first hand on some of these masks and posting them individually allows them to appear on Google search engine better. Hopefully it is more helpful this way!

Haul Review: Wako Beauty from Shopee - Cosrx, Pyunkang Yul, and Huxley

I noticed that there is an increasing number of reliable kbeauty retailers in Malaysia nowadays (despite everyone claiming that the economy is terrible). Back then (3-4 years back), we only have Hermo and some Facebook sellers who sell Korean beauty products at skyrocketing prices. Now not only we have Althea, Hermo these local big heads, but also some newly emerging ones on Shopee, Lazada, Qoo10, and many more, not to mention Korea-based retailers like Koreadepart, Testerkorea, Gmarket, Style Korean, Jolse, Rose Rose Shop, Sweet Corea and so on. And the industry is growing.

In today's review, I am gonna share what I bought from a kbeauty retailer I recently discovered on Shopee and how it feels like shopping from them. Please note that this is not a sponsored review, merely a sharing of my recent haul online.

Review: Huxley Lip Balm; Moisture Wear

I am always on the look out for nice lip balms. I have tried many, from Nivea, Silky Girl, Hada Labo, and Mentholatum, but except for Hada Labo that has been discontinued, none really fits what I am looking for in a lip balm. I subsequently shifted my focus to lip sleeping mask, and have tried 3 different lip masks in the past. Yet, none seems to really meet my expectations. Laneige one is the best, but I want something less sticky and more watery. I prefer something hydrating for my lips, not just emollient or occlusive because my lips don't seem to fare well with those texture. Emollient or occlusive balms only pull my lips instead of soothe and moisturize it. As such, when I saw one of my favourite brands Huxley is carrying this unique Moisture Wear Lip Balm, I didn't hesitate to order one, in the hope that I would find my One after Hada Labo that's already been discontinued.

Let's find out how I feel about the Huxley Lip Balm!

Review: The History of Whoo Bichup Royal Anti Aging Kit

I am not sure do you guys notice, but The History of Whoo is actually considered more high-end than Sulwhasoo. It is actually quite obvious. Sulwhasoo's most expensive item, if I remembered correctly, should be less than RM 1,000 but The History of Whoo has anti-aging products that retail for more than RM 2,000! That's like double the price! Of course, skincare is not all about price tags so I am NOT suggesting that The History of Whoo products are better than Sulwhasoo, I am just saying that they are pricier!

I am not really a fan of Whoo products, mostly due to the price. I can't afford buying skincare items that will easily cost me my monthly salary. And I seriously do not see the need of doing so. But the high price tag doesn't stop me from feeling curious about Whoo products. I always want to get a hand on some Whoo products so when I see Gmarket (a Korean online retail platform) selling Whoo product miniatures, I quickly ordered some to try out myself.

Among many The History of Whoo products, three particular ones stand out:

  • The History of Whoo Bichup Soon Hwan Essence
  • The History of Whoo Bichup Self-Generating Anti-Aging Essence
  • The History of Whoo Bichup Ja Yoon Cream

They are all in the "bichup" line (密贴), which targets drier, duller and more mature skin to promote cellular repair and to offer intense but lightweight nourishment for the skin. They are among the brand's best sellers and are particularly famous among Taiwanese and Chinese girls!

Let's look at the products individually:

Review: 4 Months Experience Using The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2% (or Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion)

I wanted to use this for longer, because I still haven't seen the "long-term" results of using it consistently, but since I've been with this product for more than 4 months, I have accumulated a lot of thoughts on it that I want to share with you guys.

I got The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2% about 4-5 months ago from ASOS. I wanted to get it from Deciem Official Website at first, but realizing that Deciem raised their shipping cost, making their products twice as expensive as its price tag including delivery. The Ordinary marketizes itself as a cheap but effective skincare solution so there is no point spending so much just to get it shipped here, which is why I had to look for alternative channels. I am so glad that I found ASOS, which offers free shipping (with tracking number) for order above £20.

Retinol, retinoid or vitamin A is new to me. I am not used to using vitamin A in my routine. I know it is good for wrinkles and uneven skin texture but I am not sure exactly how it works (for me) so I don't want to venture into it. I was pretty comfortable using only AHA and BHA. But when The Ordinary came out with a retinoid that costs me only $10-15 (~RM 60), I knew it is a great opportunity for me to test retinoid out. After all, I won't feel that terrible if the product doesn't work for my skin because it is just (just?) RM 60!

Comparison Review: Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Mask EX, Trufresh Soothing Mask, Radiance Energy Mask and Clarifying Mask EX

Sulwhasoo is one of my favourite skincare brands. It uses premium ingredients, has nice packaging and most importantly it works well to nourish and protect my skin. Many of my friends love Sulwhasoo as well, which includes my mom who are fan of the brand's cleansing oil, cleansing foam and ginseng cream.

I wrote several reviews on Sulwhasoo previously, which you can check out below if you are interested:

People know Sulwhasoo mainly by its ginseng and essential balancing products. But do you know that their masks are actually pretty good as well? Honestly, I think Sulwhasoo masks are one of the must-haves if you are into Sulwhasoo but finding their products too pricey. The masks normally come in bigger volume hence giving it high CP ratio. They are also more suitable for younger skin or those who just want to test the waters before venturing into Sulwhasoo.

Sulwhasoo have two really popular masks, namely the Overnight Vitalizing Mask EX and Clarifying Mask EX. Recently, the brand also introduces two more into the lines, one is a soothing pack whereas the other one is an overnight repairing mask made of jade extract. Sounds cool? Let's look at them one by one!

Review: Belif The True Cream - Water Bomb

Well, I think many of us agrees that first love stays beautiful forever in your memories, even though in reality it isn't that beautiful. That applies to my skincare holy grails as well.

I guess most of you who follow my blog knows that I am a big fan of Belif The True Cream - Aqua Bomb, and I am still now. But that doesn't rule out the fact that there might be many other products better than Aqua Bomb out there in the market. I am blind to those though, because Aqua Bomb is my first, so it has a divine position inside my heart. Nothing can challenge its beauty and perfection. But I can't help to notice that not all of my friends adore Aqua Bomb as much as I do. That doesn't mean that Aqua Bomb is not good, but it just happens that most of my friends who don't like Aqua Bomb find it sticky.

Well... I get it. Aqua Bomb is designed for combination to dry skin, so dehydrated and oily skins might find the product overwhelming. Normally I would stop at Aqua Bomb when my friend(s) whom I recommended Belif to finds it sticky because Aqua Bomb is the lightest cream you can find in Belif. You can't get other ones if Aqua Bomb doesn't work for you. You can of course try out the Oil Control Fresh Moisturizer, but even that one is a little bit tacky. So I am actually pretty excited when Belif comes out with this lighter and instant skin cooling Water Bomb designed for oilier skin! Because now I can extend an olive branch to those who aren't Belif-ians yet because they find the Aqua Bomb sticky!

Review: LJH Vita Propolis Ampoule and Cream

They say good things come in pairs. But for LJH Vita Propolis Ampoule and Cream, it is different. Despite my affection for the Ampoule, its Cream turned out to be a complete failure for me.

Before we begin, let’s talk about how I got to know LJH. I learned about LJH Vita Propolis Ampoule from Fiddy Snails 2 years ago. I was really intrigued by this product that Fiddy raved about so much despite the price. I started using them quite some time ago, about 1.5 years ago if I am not mistaken. I have finished using 2 bottles of them, and is now into my 3rd before realizing that I never actually talked about them in my blog! So here it is, my much belated LJH Vita Propolis Ampoule and Cream reviews! I hope you guys find it useful!

Honestly speaking, it was really difficult to buy LJH 2 years ago when I came across Fiddy’s post. The price at Glow Recipe was super unaffordable (plus shipping). HKC Plaza did not come up despite I googled the product. So I had to wait for several months before I bumped into Koreadepart. Now this product is widely available on Roseroseshop, Testerkorea, Gmarket, Sweet Corea, and eBay so you should be able to find it now.

As for those of you who are new to LJH, it is a pharmaceutical brand originated from Korea in 2004. The brand carries many lines of products but its most popular ones are the tea tree and vita propolis lines. I have talked about the LJH tea tree and probiotics products previously so you can check those out if you are interested.

Review: Make P:rem Clean Me. Radiance Cleansing Pack

I am an impatient person, so if you ask me to use a mask that I need to apply and then wait for 15-20 minutes before washing it off, I will normally say no. I like to settle everything in shower, and is absolutely against having to wash my face after shower. As such, I am quite lucky to be born with normal skin because clay mask is not a must for me. Unless if you have severely clogged and oily skin, clay mask is really a bonus not a must. What it offers is just a temporary deep-cleansing "illusion" that will disappear once all the sebum and pollutants kick in. Yes it can "suck out" excessive oil, moisture and dirt on your surface that is within its reach, but nothing "deep-down" or permanent.

But just like some of you, I have this clay mask itch whenever my skin feels dirty or clogged. I also have friends with nose pads itch who just want to see blackheads got pulled off their pores, knowing very well that these won't do anything practical for their skin and pores. So what happens when you have this clay mask itch but don't like to wait too long for the clay mask to dry like me? Enter Make P:rem Clean Me. Radiance Cleansing Pack. This is a clay-mask-to-foam cleanser that will save you time in shower yet keeping your pores happy and clear!

Review: 100 INNISFREE Products Part 8 - Makeup

(Updated on August 2017)

Out of all the Korean skincare brands I have tried, Innisfree is probably the most innovative, creative, fast-changing yet economic. I have tried out tonnes of Innisfree products, more than 100 if you take into accounts different masks and products that have already been discontinued, but Innisfree moves so fast that my reviews couldn't catch up with its pace of reformulation and repackaging. By the time I realized, I already accumulated more than 50 product reviews on Innisfree, which prompted me to write this huge, summary-oriented brand overview and reviews of 100 Innisfree products review.

Just a little bit of disclosure here, most of the products discussed here are stuffs I used 1-2 years ago hence I didn't possess the skills set back then to capture nice photos and texture of the products. Hence, many of these pictures are extracted from Innisfree Korean website, some from Innisfree World/Official website. The copy right of these pictures therefore belongs to Innisfree.

I updated this review on 25 August to make it more organized and broke it down into different parts based on product lines (e.g. green tea, volcanic ash, orchid etc.) for your reading convenience.
