Review: Too Cool for School Egg Mousse Pack

This product has been on the market for a while. I wasn't that keen at first, since I don't think a egg mousse pack could effectively remove sebum and dirt on the skin, at least not in the long-term. However, due to its increased popularity, I must say that I am really intrigued. There must a reason why everyone is raving about it, hence this time I will be the lab rat myself!

Review: Innisfree Eco Safety Daily Sunblock or Daily UV Protection Cream SPF35/PA++

Hi~ I am back with another sunscreen review! I hope you guys aren't too fed up with my obsession of finding the best sunscreen. But sunscreen is something that I finish the quickest and there are honestly tonnes of sunscreen out there in the market. Innisfree is one such brand that always comes out with newer and fancier sunscreen.

10 different Innisfree sunscreens serving different functions, skin types and environments

This Innisfree Eco Safety Daily Sunblock I bought a few months ago all the sudden becomes an outdated folk sitting dismally in the wardrobe when Innisfree repackage and relaunch its sunscreen range.

But after comparing further, I realize that although the packagings are different, their ingredients are more or less the same. So this review remains relevant (at least to some degree) for all of you who are considering getting Innisfree sunscreen.

Review: Tony Moly Intense Care Galactomyces First Essence 94.5%

I am crazy about treatment essences. You can even say that I collect them like stamps. The passion starts from my first bottle of Nature Republic First Essence and then evolved through Primera Miracle Seed Essence, IOPE, Hera, Lirikos, Secret Key, Missha and so on. Currently, I have at least 15-20 different treatment essences in my cupboard. And today, it is Tony Moly's turn.

I don't usually use a lot of Tony Moly products. Most of them fail to impress me. I know the brand is famous for its tomato mask, mascara and snail products. I've tried the Tomatox Magic Massage Mask and was seriously unimpressed. The same goes for its snail products. And Tony Moly isn't the most innovative brand, unlike Innisfree which always comes out with better and fancier ingredients. Although I am not a fan of Tony Moly products, but since I am a fan of treatment essence, I couldn't resist the temptation to get this Galactomyces First Essence when it was on sales!

Review: IOPE Bio Anti-Aging Trial Kit

I have heard a lot of people talking about IOPE, especially their Bio-Essence, Moistgen and Super Vital lines. I have actually tried them out a long long ago but never really got a time to really talking and reviewing about them. Since I am speeding up on my skincare review recently, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity for me to share my 2 percent on their Bio Anti-Aging line. I didn't take any photos of the Moistgen and Whitegen lines despite having tried out a set of miniature for both lines, so I think I won't be reviewing about them in the future. Anyone have any questions about those two lines are more than welcome to leave a message down below.

Review: My Holy Grail Shampoo for Sensitive, Flaky and Dry Scalp - Innisfree Zero Shampoo for Dry Scalp

I am quite a junkee when it comes to skincare products, but for haircare, I just have to jump from products to products because no shampoos seem to work well on me. I have tried dozens, from Loreal Paris, Dove, Schwarzkopf, Tsubaki to Ryoe and Yungo. I even did a comparison review on those shampoos I've tried in the past. Although they are different in many ways, but their share one similarity - they don't really agree with my scalp 95% of the time.

Drugstore brands like Loreal Paris, Dove, Clear, Aquair, Sunsilk, and Head & Shoulder were completely useless on my scalp. I'm not sure why, but probably because of the SLSs, excessive fragrance and low-quality ingredients used. Silicone might be a reason as well.

And then I moved over to pricier brands like Tsubaki, Ryoe and Yungo. My scalp fared better with Tsubaki but it made my hair drier. Ryoe green bottle Cheongamo deep cleanses my scalp but it is also pretty drying for my hair. Yungo is a total mess as my scalp becomes super irritated after first few uses. I used to do well on Ryoe purple Jayangjunmo for Sensitive Scalp but somehow my second bottle doesn't work as effective as the first one on my sensitive scalp. I just have to look for alternative which is how I found this Innisfree Zero Shampoo.

Review: Nature Republic Argan Essential Deep Care Hair Pack

I always want to try this Argan Oil Hair Mask from Nature Republic. Not only does it look adorable, it also gives a very natural image that reminds me of Amazon rain forest. So when I'm done with my Ryoe Jayangjunmo Anti-Hair Loss Treatment, I quickly got my hand on one. Initially, I wanted to buy to it from Nature Republic store but since it was always out of stock when I visited its Leisure Mall and Sunway Pyramid branches, I couldn't wait any longer but to get it from Hermo. Luckily, Hermo always has it in stock most of the time.

Comparison Review: Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution || Cosrx Mela14 White Ampule

I have been getting a lot of requests asking me to write a comparison review on these two products - Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution and Cosrx Mela14 White Ampule. So her it is.

Technically, they are both very different types of product: one uses exfoliation and the other fades hyperpigmentation and inhibits the enzyme tyrosinase that causes dark spots. In other words, one works from the outside and the other one inside out.

I started using Kiehl's much earlier than Cosrx, like 5-6 months ahead. I used Kiehl's for 3 months and followed that up with Laneige White Plus Original Essence and Clear C Advanced Effector. And the great thing was that I see results from all of them with consecutive uses. I don't use them alternatively to make sure that I know which ones work and which one doesn't.

After 6 months, my skin looks like this:

Kiehl's fades my freckles whereas Laneige brightens up my complexion

And I got to know Cosrx after I'm done with Laneige and wanted to pick up on Kiehl's again. I was faced with a dilemma at that time, because I really wanted to try Cosrx but I missed Kiehl's, which is why I decided to write this comparison review.

Are you interested to find out how they compare with each other? Let's go through the reviews in details!

Review: Primera Skin Relief UV Protector SPF50+ PA+++, A Sunscreen Suitable for Pregnancy

Sometimes when you got pregnant, skincare can be a very challenging thing for you. There is a list of ingredients you shouldn't touch when you have babies. In fact, most of my friends literally go skincare-less when they are pregnant. I understand that, not everyone of us know how to read ingredients of skincare products or have the awareness of it. So, the safest option is to avoid it all together. However, pregnant women are more prone to hyperpigmentation and skin problems like acne, fine lines and increased sebum production due to hormonal changes in their body. Hence, it may not be best to avoid all skincare products.

The good news is, there are certain brand that addresses this issue. One of them would be Primera from Korea. I've talked about this brand before. It is a very natural (not organic) vegen brand utilizing the power of germination and translates them into skincare force. The best part about it is that it is suitable for pregnant women and it also has a range designed specifically for babies!

Review: Belif UV Protector Fresh Sunscreen SPF50+ PA+++

Most of you probably know that I am a big fan of Belif products. And a lot of you might notice that I review about sunscreens a lot. In fact, sunscreen is a skincare product I finish the quickest compared to the rest. So you can guess how excited I was when I finally get to open this bottle of Belif Fresh Sunscreen! I mean, what's more exciting and intriguing than trying out a sunscreen product from my favourite brand? Maybe I will find my soulmate here!

Review: Lirikos Marine+ Mineral Toner and My Thoughts on Lirikos Marine+ and Marine Energy line

Do you enjoy cocktail? But how about having one for your skin? Would you still be interested or completely turned off by the idea? Let's look at the cocktail we're gonna have for our skin today - Lirikos Marine+ Mineral Toner.

Actually, this line has been discontinued when I bought this Mineral Toner from Gmarket. They replace it with an entirely new brand called Lirikos Marine Energy instead of Marine Plus. I bought something from the new Marine Energy line as well but I want to talk about the Marine Plus Mineral Toner first.

A Comparison Review of 11 Facial Mists I used

You guys know I am a slow writer, and it may take a few days for me to write a really detailed product reviews, hence I don't feel like doing the same for facial mists, which are often time more or less the same kind of product. Putting them together in one post also allows you guys to better compare them.

To begin with, facial mist is a watery spray that used to replenish, rehydrate, and refresh your skin throughout the day. For that reason, they are always designed to be light, portable and convenient. I've used several mists in the past, and they somehow feel the same, with minor differences in packaging, scent and efficacy. It's fairly hard to tell which facial mists is more hydrating, soothing or refreshing than others, as these are just some temporarily moisture fix for your skin. You'll need to look for hydrating serum to find permanent solution to your dry or dehydrated skin issues.

Normally I use facial mist whenever my skin is producing oil, feeling dry or hot. It will effectively calm, cool, refresh and hydrate my skin to stop signs of irritation and unhealthiness the skin produces. Regardless, it is not meant to replace my hydrating toner, serum or cream. I still need to use those to keep my skin at its optimal level. If you are still confused, just think of mist like a skincare supplement or temporary booster.

My October 2016 Haul: Althea Korea is doing RM 99 Free Shipping Promotion FOREVER!

Good news to all Malaysian sweeties! Althea Korea Malaysia is doing a RM 99 free shipping promotion and they are extending the promotion... FOREVER!

As you guys know, Althea is a trusty Korean beauty retailer based in Korea and is currently shipping to multiple Southeast Asian countries including Malaysia. The minimum required purchase for free shipping deal was RM 150, which I think is pretty reasonable given the low individual item prices, wide range of selection, constant daebak deal and speedy shipping.

But, not everyone has RM 150 worth of products to buy everytime so RM 99 is definitely a great news for all of us!

Review: Namu Life Snail White Cream

If you read my previous review on the Secret Key Black Snail Cream, you'll probably realize that I have this tendency to spend on things I might not need or enjoy simply because some vlogger recommended it somewhere else on the internet. Well, a lot of us probably do that, sometimes you get lucky sometimes not. Today I shall talk about a really popular product raved all over the internet that turns out to be super funky for me. It teaches me a lesson that popularity sometimes turns us blinded.

Review: Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Essence

Have you ever fantasizing about sitting on the beach the whole day, doing nothing but listening to the sound of waves hitting the shore? Or dreaming of turning into a fish, swimming freely between rocks and sands to feel the ocean? If you do, then you'll probably enjoy this essence made of lava seawater from the prestige Jeju Island.

Said to be made of lava seawater that only exists in two places on earth - Jeju Island and Hawaii, this Essence sounds like a hydrating elixir for me! At least it contains those precious lava seawater that I cannot possibly find in any other skincare (not that I know of) or places nearby (maybe I will visit the Jeju Island one day)!

Review: Primary Raw DoYouganic Cleansing Soap

Do you guys eat tofu or enjoy drinking soy milk? If you do, then you'll probably love this new brand from Korea that utilizes doyou, or soy milk in their products.

I've got several products from the brand myself, namely the DoYouganic Cleansing Soap, Soy Milk Azulene Gel Cream and Soy Milk Facial Cream. But since I finished the Cleansing Soap the earliest, I wanted to talk about it first.

Believe in Truth: A Brand Overview and Reviews of 60 Belif Products Part 2: Booster, Toner, Mist, Eye Cream

I have talked about the brand philosophy, product label, and my thoughts on Belif products as a whole in my part 1 review. In this article, I am gonna share how I get to know Belif at the first place.

I got to know Belif long before Belif opened its first store in Malaysia. I heard about Belif when I started to dive into the kbeauty trend. I wanted to give it a try so I included some of Belif's miniature in my 3rd Testerkorea haul some time in 2015. And it was the Aqua Bomb that got me super hooked, which subsequently prompted me to become one of the first customers when Belif opened its first store in Sunway Pyramid. All these amazing products I share in this mega review is a combination of my own purchase, Gift with Purchase (GwPs), sample sachets, family's purchase and friend's purchase. It takes me nearly 2 years to accumulate this much of Belif products. And my review was finally shared on Belif website last year as a recognition of my effort.

I hope these reviews will be helpful for some of you who are interested in trying out and learning more about Belif products. Good luck finding your best Belifies.

Comparison Review: Senka Mineral Pure vs. Essence vs. Perfect UV

My quest to find "the best sunscreen" has extended to Senka, a Japanese skincare brand under Shiseido that is targeting the general market. So far you can only find this line in Watsons Malaysia and maybe AEON Wellness if I am not mistaken. They are always on sales for somewhere around RM 25-40, and are on the "affordable sunscreen category" in the market. Apart from its Mineral UV line, Senka is also particularly well known for their Perfect Whip foaming cleanser.

Review: Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater VIP Kit

Some of you guys have been asking me to do a review on this after I shared it on my Instagram, so here is it!

Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater line was launched in Korea in April but only came to Malaysia in October.

It was uber popular among the Korean community when it was firstly launched. A lot of people was talking about getting it somehow. I held back despite the temptation because I had tried the Jeju Sparkling line and was not sure how would it differ from the Jeju Sparkling line. I've had a lot of products and didn't want to risk myself on products with unknown texture unless it came to Malaysia where I can touch and feel.

Review: Re:cipe Slowganic Lemon Cleanser

This gotta be the cutest cleanser ever that I'm reviewing today - the Re:cipe Slowganic Lemon Cleanser.

Honestly, I am attracted to its packaging, presentation and claim at first. When I first saw it, I wasn't so sure what it actually was - a cleanser, a mask or a makeup remover? And I wasn't sure if I really needed it, or wanted to spend so much on a... cleanser? But the packaging is so irresistible so I finally decided to give it a try.

I got mine from Sapphire 218, the place where I can find this cleanser at the lowest price including shipping. I know Membox sells it for US$ 18 and Sweetbox has it for close to RM 100. Either way, the one I got was only RM 60.

Comparison Review: Belif The True Cream - Aqua Bomb vs. Moisturizing Bomb

Those of you who follow my Instagram and Blog will often hear me talking about Belif Aqua Bomb - my true holy grail moisturizer. Today, I'm gonna walk you guys through this miraculous water bomb in a jar, and compare it to my another highly raved sister product - the Moisturizing Bomb.

If you haven't read my overview on Belif, it's basically a Korean cosmetic brand inheriting the spirit of traditional herb processing method and philosophy from the British medical herbalist Duncan Napiers. If you go to UK, you can still Napiers clinic operating throughout the country and its products are shipped worldwide to countries including Malaysia.

In addition to utilizing the efficacy of herbs in their products, Belif is also great in the way that they carefully select only the best herbal ingredients using the best formula. There isn't any harsh preservatives, additives, dyes, fragrances and animal origin ingredients in here. Belif also never advertises through TV or celebrities endorsement. Their popularity is gained through the spread of words, where performance speaks for itself.

The Moisturizing Power of Starfish Collagen: Sorabee Balancing Foam Cleanser, Skin, Essence and Lotion Review

I believe those of you who follow my blog knows that I am a detailed, results-oriented and honest blogger right? Testing the performance of products, especially skincare ones take time. So although I received these products from Sorabee Malaysia quite some times ago, I am only ready to talk about it now. Many apologizes for the delay.

Sorabee is a new brand from South Korea launched by KbeautyZone Sdn Bhd in 2014. The entire concept of the brand is very much similar to Laneige but different in the way that while Laneige uses better water technology, Sorabee utilizes the beauty secrets of marine ingredients such as algae and starfish collagen to achieve better skin health.

Comparison Review: Banila Co Clean it Zero || Tony Moly Aquaporin Sherbet Cleanser

Today I am gonna throw in a really simple comparison review on two makeup removers from Banila Co and Tony Moly. I know there is one - Heimish All Clean Balm that everyone is raving about, which I just bought and is en route shipping here. Will update you guys on that one once I've tried it out, so far let's just look at the two makeup removers that we're gonna talk about today.

Mamonde sunscreens: Watery Drop Sun Jelly || Everyday Sun Cream

Technically, this is not a comparison review of both sunscreens. I bought the Water Drop Sun Jelly last year but only started to use it this year whereas the Everyday Sun Cream is a formula upgrade I bought few months ago. The Water Drop Sun  Jelly has also been discontinued at the moment, and I am not sure (although I am positive) whether or not they will bring it back in the winter season.

Since I am using both sunscreens and have not talked about either of them before, I just thought it would be informative and time-saving to talk about them together - so as to give you guys a clearer idea of different Mamonde sunscreens and how they reformulation has changed the line.

Comparison Review: Nature Republic Super Aqua Max Combination Watery Cream (2016) || Biotherm Aquasource Gel

This was initially meant to be an individual review for the 2016 renewed version of Nature Republic Super Aqua Max Combination Watery Cream. However, since I also got a few miniatures of the Biotherm  Aquasource Gel, which was supposed to be the original version of the Nature Republic dupe, I thought it would be interesting and insightful to make a detailed comparison of both products here.

Review: The Saem Healing Tea Garden Green Tea Cleansing Water

I think I have been a little generous on cleansing water recently. I just bought the Etude House Real Art No-Wash Cleansing Water and is still on the verge of finishing it but somehow couldn't stop myself from getting this little one when I saw it up on Althea.

Of course, to makeup for the free shipping deal is one reason, but most comes from my infinite desire to get a hand on every new products I am interesting in trying. This cleansing water from The Saem is unfortunately one of them.

Priced at KRW 5,000 for 300ml, I can dare say that this is by far one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest cleansing water out there in the Korean market. And given my pleasant experience with its harakeke line, I am curious to find out more about this product. Is it as good as its price? Or would it totally change my mind on the brand? Let's find out more below!

Review: Blithe Tundra Chaga Pressed Serum

I have a lot to say about this product, especially on why it has gained all my love over the past few months.

Rarely do I review a product that quickly after trying it out, this Blithe Tundra Chaga Pressed Serum is an exception. It takes a unique place in my morning routine, and through day-to-day contact, it almost captures all my attention and deems me uninterested to try out other products. In fact, it is also a serum-moisturizer hybrid that makes a busy woman day easier. Normally, I can go walk out of the house wearing only a toner, this, and a sunscreen. After Belif Aqua Bomb, this is another moisturizer that catches my heart.

My 2016 Summer Skincare Routine

Malaysia is a year-long summer country with only rainy and sunny days. But since a lot of countries are in their summer now, I thought it would be good to share my skincare routine for someone living in a summer country like Malaysia. This is also my first skincare routine episode having blogged for some 2 years. I hope you like today's post and find it helpful in a way in building your own.

My Skin Type: normal/combination with oily nose wings and drier foreheads
My Weather: hot, humid with monsoon rains
My Skin Concerns: freckles, sun spots, under-eyes fine lines

Review: It's Skin Prestige Foam D'escargot

This is my 3rd review on the It's Skin snail line, maybe I will do a forth one soon on the toner and emulsion pair. Actually, I bought this foam cleanser after I was really impressed by the snail cream which I have reviewed earlier. I was curious is this foam cleanser as good as the snail cream. Besides the price is not that high at about RM 50 per 150ml for something as nutritive and quality as this.

The Velvety Soft. Review: Missha All Around Safe Block Soft Finish Sun Milk SPF50+/PA+++

This was not an impulsive buy. I bought this after reading a review raving about it, from a Philippine's blogger with weather highly similar to Malaysia - equally hot and humid. Among all sunscreens she reviewed, this was the only one that she rated 5/5 back then. It raises my curiosity hence prompts me to purchase it. The one I bought is the 70ml version.

Sheet Mask Review Episode 5: May and June 2016 Facial Mask Collection

I know that I have been so slacked off in my sheet masking routine recently. You know, things got tough. I had been busy with my work, organizing my skincare stashes, shopping for new stuffs, reading off other people's reviews and also selling off some unused gadgets. Anyway, all I was saying was that I had no time for sheet masking. I don't even keep my routine lengthy. Everything was short and quick and when I got to bed it was already 1AM without any more time for sheet mask.

So, yeah, let's us start with this rather short sheet mask mega post!

Is Cheap Good? Review: A.H.C Capture Collagen Ampoule

I found A.H.C when I was on the hunt for a better eye cream, which was how I found A.H.C Private Eye Cream for Face (Season 3). I couldn't find a lot of information about the brand itself, presumably because they are mostly in Korean and not a lot of Mandarin or English speaking websites are talking about it. I was informed by a Taiwanese Facebook skincare retailer that A.H.C, just like Neogence and Dr. Wu in Taiwan, is a popular doctor brand in Korea, which I am not sure if that's true but I was willing to give it a try.

I got two ampoules from the brand, namely the A.H.C Capture Collagen Ampoule and the Capture Hyaluronic Ampoule. The packaging looks aesthetic and professional though, which actually gives me the confidence that this is a doctor brand.

Review: Secret Key Black Snail Original Cream

Have you ever come across any instances where everyone is raving about a specific ingredient, and then you are hooked because of your formidable curiously? Snail cream is one of these wallet-hurting trends that is still blowing wild now.

Few months ago, I came passed a vlog comparing different snail creams, with a few like It’s Skin, Namulife Snail White being mentioned. I had the It’s Skin one and was very pleased with the performance of it, hence when this vlog also recommending a black snail cream from Secret Key that was “pleasant” and “cheap”, I was sold.

I have tried some Secret Key products before, they were pretty decent at their prices especially their Starting Treatment Essence so I thought I wouldn't be wrong this time. Hence, I impulsively placed an order from Koreadepart to have the snail cream shipped to me. Let’s find out about the cream below!

Comparison Review of 7 First Serum / Skin Booster: Sulwhasoo, Hanyul, Innisfree, Belif, Goodal and Mamonde

It's no secret that I love treatment essence. I have reviewed 5 of them, and have at least 10 lining up in my wardrobe. Given my love for treatment essence, one would expect me to like first serum as well, which is just about the same thing as treatment essence, but are they? In this review, we're gonna talk further on first serum and discussed 7 first care products I'd personally tried.

WHAT IS A FIRST SERUM?

First serum refers to skin booster with a thicker and concentrated consistency than treatment essence that you use immediately after cleansing and before a toner. Unlike treatment essence that mainly renews, regenerates and exfoliates, first serum focuses more on deep hydration, skin activating and nourishing.

I realize that there are more treatment essence than first serum in the market, probably due to general consumer preference for treatment essence. At least you can always relate to SK-II Pitera Essence when you are trying to sell your treatment essence, right?

Besides, there is also some confusion between first serum and normal serum. This line is getting blurred as more serum has lighter consistency nowadays. For me, it is pretty straightforward. Anything that says "first serum" in its packaging is what I will use as a first care product. All others are considered normal serum. In fact, first serum has lighter consistency and is more refreshing on the skin as they are meant to be your skin appetizer that reminds your skin it is time for breakfast!

Problematic, dull, dehydrated and dry skin will benefit the most from a first serum as it preps and revitalizes the skin before layering it with nutrition. It opens up the skin's appetizer for better nutrition absorption.

Review: Mamonde First Energy Serum

When I first got this serum, I thought oh wow what a beautiful little thing this it, like a shy young lady waiting to be discovered. The bottle is small but sturdy so you wouldn't break it even if you drop it on the floor.
